My visit to Starbucks on Boracay Island in July 2025 was quite disappointing. It was a slow day, likely due to monsoon season, with very few customers.

Around 9 AM, despite the lack of a queue, it took a surprising five to seven minutes to simply order a drink. This delay was due to the male staff member, who appeared to be serving as a barista and cashier, openly flirting with a male client. It seemed his priorities were elsewhere rather than on providing prompt service.

Beyond the slow service, the store's condition was notably subpar. The ceiling was leaking, and the tables and chairs were unkempt. Dust had accumulated on the windows, although it was somewhat obscured by the blinds. Even the lavatory and floor were wet.

This experience was a stark contrast to Starbucks' usual brand image. Starbucks typically strives to project an image of hospitality, courteous and professional staff, and clean, well-maintained stores that offer a quick and reliable caffeine fix to weary visitors.
