I booked here 5 nights, but after one, we ran away asking for refunding.|The room was a bit old fashioned and bad maintained, but it had a wonderful view on the sea.|The problem was the night club in the beside building, with high volume disco music until 1:30 a.m. and closing time at 4:00 a.m., with all chinese drunk guests coming back at the hotel, crying, shouting, kicking doors and waste bins and whatever they see around. |We fell asleep at 1:30 a.m. and be woken up by these crazy people at 4:00 a.m. |The hotel has a safe guardian, that did nothing, he saw these people go in and let them do whatever they wanted. |Usually we expected from 4 stars hotel a different problem management, and behaviour. ||For instance, at the front desk, when we arrived they asked for a deposit by cash, so we needed information for finding an atm, the one they suggested was closed, so we had to walk for a km to find one. |And their first question, when we came back was "do you have the money for the deposit now?". |Have you ever learnt how evaluate the person in front of you, before asking these kind of things or the best way to talk to your guests? |We were a couple of Europeans asking for a quiet room, and peaceful holiday at the sea, which kind of guests this hotel has to ask for a deposit? Only drunk bad mannered people that destroyed the room as the ones that we would have heard that night? You offer an old room, wet spot on the ceiling, burning (??) spot on bedside table, low quality furniture. It looks like a motel maybe. |There was also a long list of what you cannot do, for example henné tattoos, but the bed sheets obviously were full of henné spots (and other kind of spots) , that I asked to replace immediately. |I received a similar list in other 4* hotel with all the services provided and its costs. |The Muse listed objects and the money you have to pay if you break something!! |They have an incoherent, unfriendly behaviour. |We spent the next four days by writing to their manager to have our money back, because he was never there in person. |We had to go the east coast hotel area to find an available hotel, they ruined our vacation, and just a few hours before our departing, we received our money back, and they didn't allow us any review on booking.com even though we spent and paid one entire night, sleepless, there. |A last word on the breakfast hall, very poor food, I have never seen so poor breakfast neither in a 2 stars hotel. |Western food had very low quality (juice podwer mixture with water), just toast bread, and old cereals, just a hot dark water called "coffee". Please, blame yourself for the way you manage a 4* hotel, paid as a 4* hotel, it not worths half price. |The MUSE looks like a 2* hotel with nice view, the same view of all the buildings seafront. |I don't...
Read moreI want to specify that the breakfast staff, staff around the rooms, and the security were all very helpful and I appreciate them, this review does not reflect their ability to perform outstanding service.
The hotel is in need of repairs, but when I read reviews from 6+ years ago, the same comments were being made so this is unlikely to change.
The breakfast buffet was very limited, and the selection lackluster, but it was included in the hotel cost so I don’t want to complain too much. The breakfast staff was kind and attentive.
I will include a view from the window of my room. If you are planning to book this hotel, I would recommend asking for a room on the interior of the hotel, and as far back as possible away from the beach side. From sunset until 2-3 AM, the clubs on the beach are playing music so loudly, they may as well be in the room. I understand this is not the fault of the hotel.
The real issue I have with the hotel is the obvious toxic culture between the owners and the hardworking employees. The owner makes himself known at breakfast in his pajamas, or in the lobby. The employees (who I really do believe are working their hardest) are so nervous around him, and I witnessed them forced to communicate issues at breakfast in whispers just to avoid alerting the owners wife (a little boy had spilled cereal and I was getting help for him to clean it up). Under normal circumstance, an employee would not need to whisper or be stressed about alerting the owner to a problem like this. It left me feeling gross, and overall upset that I was contributing to the apparent financial benefit of such a person.
They are also very strict about the check-in policy of 3PM, despite the cleaning staff being done much earlier in the day (something I discovered in the subsequent days of staying at the hotel). It is obvious that the ownership does not want to spare a single possible cent by allowing guests extra time in a room.
I’m sure the hotel will give a bland response about their appreciation for my review and how I got some things wrong, but I am a paying customer, I did not want to pay to have these unfortunate experiences. In reality, this hotel is a reflection of other hotels along the main beach strip. Overpriced for the value, and...
Read moreThe massage and spa they have inside the hotel was really DISAPPOINTING. We just had our massage today March 12th at 19:50. They had staff lure in customers outside of the hotel and the one who tried to convince us first said Swedish Massages can’t have different massage pressures. She needs an re-orientation, please. We discussed to her how we’ve been having massages everywhere in the Philippines and abroad and we know we can request a hard pressure swedish massage. She just brushed us off and said “It’s up to you”. But I’m writing a feedback to complain another staff. First, the masseuse I had kept the door WIDE open while she got something outside and after she came back, this was while I was out of my clothes mid-massage. I had to tell her to close it. Secondly, her phone kept buzzing for new messages which made me think she’s using her phone WHILE MASSAGING. She was using only one hand and the pressure was disappearing and seemed like she was just touching my skin just for the sake of making me believe she was still massaging me when in fact she was texting. Then she proceeded to touch my face. How unhygienic!!!! I confirmed she was indeed using her phone because 1) she kept her phone beside my pillow when I turned my head mid-face massage and 2) it took her soooo long in “touching” aka “massaging” my skin neck area on my left side while my eyes were covered with a cloth using only one hand. If it was part of the routine, she could’ve done the same on my right. Nope, she just texted and texted and proceeding to touch my face. Tipping is optional but I understand it would benefit them. The only reason I tipped her was because my partner tipped his very professional masseuse a good amount. I was very disappointed with this certain masseuse, I honestly don’t think a tip was well deserved, sorry to say. The Organic Spa is giving your...
