Le Soleil de Boracay Restaurant Le Soleil de Boracay Hotel Station 2, Boracay Island, 5608 Aklan
Date we went: 19 March 2023 Overall Rating: 4/5 Food Rating: 4.3/5 Service Rating: 3.8/5 Price: PP
Items we ordered: Sinigang na Bagnet sa Batwan Stuffed Squid Baked Scallops Grilled Blue Marlin Punch-party Margarita Iced Tea
Le Soleil de Boracay's restaurant is located in the ground floor, adjacent to their reception area. It's also where you will eat your breakfast buffet in the morning while looking at the beach. The furniture is a mix of solo chairs, couches, and even bean bags. Interior is refreshing and cool to the eyes.
At night, the solemn and peaceful ambiance is replaced by live band and ihaw-ihaw and a bar/restaurant.
📝 The Food:
The writer and her company tried their famous Sinigang na Bagnet sa Batwan and it did not disappoint. It was not oily at all, and if you want a twist to your regular Sinigang, this is it. Instead of using kamias or sampaloc for their souring agent, they use the batwan fruit that grows in the Islands of Panay and Negros. Their paluto service was also commendable. The seafoods are fresh and deliciously cooked but this writer thinks there is room for improvement for their baked scallops recipe. It depends on the person's tastebuds, but it pales in comparison to Mesa's baked scallops as a point of reference. The blue marlin was really worth it, and the paluto service has free iced tea as promo.
📝 The Service:
The writer got a chance to order merienda in Le Soleil during the afternoon and found that it's hard to locate a waiter during this time (probably because it was a dead hour). At dinner time, however, everybody was present, attentive and patient in explaining the menu especially during the paluto service, where you need to buy the seafood first (this will be shown to you and you get to decide) before ordering what kind of cooking style you want.
📝 The Verdict:
If you want seafood and you don't want to pay an exhorbitant amount for it (enter DIY Travel paluto horror stories), this is definitely the place to go. The restaurant is legit, they are honest with their seafood prices and they do their best to assist you in ordering. This writer really thought that the bill out price would reach around 5,000 pesos, but it was only a little more than half of that.
On a side note, this writer hopes that their check out counter looks more presentable so it could go well with their frenchy/airy interior.
📝 Additional notes: If you want to occupy the beachfront seats, you have to be there a little bit early. Even during the night, it's not too crowded so it's perfect if you want to have a breather and still listen to live music. They accept cash, gcash, and card transactions.

Read more[November 2022] White Beach, Station Two, Boracay Island, Philippines. Sunset. Very crowded. I am not impressed with White Beach. It’s very crowded but for me the worst part is many locals have such a terrible attitude towards tourists. They play the how much (pesos) can I get out of a tourist game whilst not even trying to be hospitable and engaging about their own country. But I prefer hospitality professionals and not common scammers. Literally, every ten steps you take someone is trying to sell you something. Services. Cheap junk. Massages. Questionable seafood. Water sports packages. I really do not understand how this place got such an incredible reputation. It is pretty mediocre. I also went to the Keyhole side of the island and Didiwid Beach. Both are much more relaxing and enjoyable. But they have limited services so you need...
Read moreI don't understand what the hype is about. People are constantly hassling you to buy things and offering tours every 10 metres. It's a very busy beach with limited shade. There's a huge, ugly advertising banner for Henann Hotel spanning at least 50 metres - obviously this Chinese company paid off the government to allow this monstrosity to exist. There's rubbish everywhere you look and the occasional screw on the ground. No vaping or drinking allowed on the beach, arguably fair enough due to inconsiderate tourists. On the plus side, the water is warm, clean and clear and the sand is amazing. It's just a shame that is main issues stem from very poor decision-making from the local government.
