As it was our honeymoon, we had high hopes for a memorable experience. While there were several aspects of our stay that we truly enjoyed, we also encountered some challenges that impacted our overall impression. We emailed the management about it and never received a response.

The positives of our stay:

• The location was fantastic, providing us with beautiful surroundings and convenience. • Breakfast was a highlight, especially the thoughtful staff who remembered my almond milk preference after the first day - such gestures stood out to us. • The hotel bar was a delight, with friendly staff and well-priced drinks that we enjoyed on multiple evenings.

Areas where we encountered issues:

Room Cleaning: Despite staying in a superior room, cleaning often wasn’t done, even when we displayed the ā€œPlease Clean Our Roomā€ sign. We had to request cleaning from reception several times, and the responses about cleaning hours being ā€œonly until 4:30ā€ felt unhelpful. On one occasion, we were out for a hotel-booked tour for several hours, which would have been an ideal time to clean the room, but it was left undone.

Tours Booked Through the Hotel: • For a tour (Island Hopping) costing 1,000 pesos, we were not informed about additional fees (100 pesos for water access and 300 pesos per person for the caves). While we luckily brought cash, this information should have been provided upfront. • The pickup time for the tour was confusing. Initially, it was confirmed for 8:45, but upon checking again, we were told 9:00. Had we not double-checked, we could have missed the boat, as the correct time was indeed 8:45. • For the diving tour, we were picked up at 9:00 but later discovered the briefing didn’t begin until 10:30, with the dive at 11:00. This resulted in unnecessary waiting, and the pickup process involved walking to multiple locations before arriving close to the hotel again.

Hotel Facilities and Processes: • The pool was often dirty, which discouraged us from swimming — a disappointment given the warm weather. There is no place to lay down by the pool either. • The beach towel system felt inefficient, requiring us to sign paperwork both when picking up and returning towels. This process took longer than expected and didn’t feel guest-friendly.

Room Door Keycard Issue: Our keycard stopped working because the door battery had died. While this was resolved quickly once addressed, we had to repeatedly report the issue and felt as though our concerns were dismissed until the staff finally checked and replaced...

1 star is generous. I brought a party of 12 and had the Presidential suite, 2 "oceanview" rooms (see pictures and use a magnifying glass to see the ocean) and 2 classic rooms. Presidential suite has true ocean view room and nice balcony. The issue is as you stand on it all the vendors stand below calling up constantly trying to sell you things.

The ocean view rooms are not ocean view. They are more like top of the roof views or looking at a bush view.

The pool is tiny.

It is incredibly loud starting at 10am...gets obnoxiously loud starting at 430pm when the local marching band sets up shop banging their drums for hours to ruin the sunset....gets migraine level unbearably loud around 7pm and you are stuck in a vortex of noise until 12:30am UNLESS they decide to do an EDM concert until 4am the first day we were there.

The place was so ludicrous we got other rooms at the Aqua Hotel to get peace from the insane setup.

Food is below average to average at best.

To get to it you have to endure a 5ish minute walk down a smelly dirty alleyway where the sewage floats beneath the grates. If you decide to do it make sure to wear covered shoes so you don't get splashed.

If you plan to go berserk and party all night and dont mind the dirty alley and enjoy average food and weak drinks than I guess u may like it....but if you want any type of peace do yourself a favor and avoid this nightmare of a place.

I never long to leave a place and pride myself on treating my friends and family to great experiences. I learned my lesson with this place and will never consider exposing even an enemy to this place.

I am shocked there are any positive reviews but to each their own.

Aqua and other resorts on the other side are so much nicer and can walk a few minutes to Dmall...if you have to do the strip near dmall check out Hennan properties or Mandarin...hell anywhere other than this place would be an upgrade. Reserve at your own risk and consider...

Do not be fooled by the hypercommercialised online marketing. This is your basic Travelodge, with even less recognition and probably less nice facilities thanks to the management, or lack thereof. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, and displayed dismay when we requested they arrange our airport transfer. Restaurant/breakfast was acceptable, although family guests DON’T WANT YOUR WAITERS FLIRTING WITH THEM!!!

Rooms are a bit rundown, contrary to the marketing. Toilets were small with problems with the showerhead in 205. No bidets (the handheld sprays) either, despite it being advertised. Even Caticlan Airport has bidets. No toothbrush and toothpaste provided, which was surprising even for a 3-star beach hotel. WiFi was intermittent or worse dysfunctional.

Pricing is expensive - PHP4000 or thereabouts for the lowest room per night. Not to mention the P1500 airport transfer they linked up with Southwest Travels for. The only saving grace is the location, which is facing the sea at White Beach.

In front of the hotels, overly friendly tour sellers bombard you with questions about where you are from, how long do you stay... ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATISING, even for someone who has lived in Saigon, Manila and been to the likes.

Trust me, something like Fairways and Bluewater is much better. On Agoda it starts at P3800, with newer rooms, golf links, 20-odd restaurants and access to a private beach. Okay, 700 rooms sound like a crowded place, but spread over 80 hectares and managed by Megaworld, one would hope it is better. A bit further away from the fun though, but should be fine considering the trike system in Boracay. Note: I DO NOT work for Fairways and Bluewater. I’m just a fed up tourist who likes to research numbers - especially when it comes to price. Economies of scale is a great thing. Fairways and Bluewater: I expect you to give me...
