Hawker Chan SM San Lazaro — Restaurant in Manila

It's been awhile since we've been to their branch at Glorietta 3 so we decided to relive the food experience at this branch. High chairs are available for toddlers, entrance is wheelchair-friendly, and utensils are self-service.

Char Siew Rice and Roasted Pork Vegetable Noodle were simple and very flavorful with just about enough sauce. Noodles were enjoyable with an acceptably soft texture to bite through even though they got super tasty towards the end (thanks to the bottom part being idle in the sauce). Seasonal Vegetable was very lovely thanks to the garlic and sauce. The dish, itself, made me feel better after enjoying some port fat earlier. I've finally gotten used to the Barley with Calamansi. This is a personal achievement!

Hawker Chan offers a solid lineup of flavorful, affordable Singaporean-inspired dishes. I tried the Fishball Laksa (large) for 370 PHP, and it was a standout—the creamy, spiced broth and tender fishballs were absolutely satisfying. The iced tea (80 PHP) was refreshing, and the wonton soup (118 PHP) was light and comforting.

However, I wasn’t too impressed with the dumplings in the wonton soup—the meat filling felt too small for the wrapper, which left the texture a bit off for my taste.

The staff was friendly and attentive, and the casual, inviting ambiance made the dining experience pleasant. I used a 500 PHP gift certificate, which was a great bonus. While I didn’t get to try the best-selling Hainanese Chicken this time, I’m looking forward to returning for it.

I'd say that this is my first time eating to this restaurant and i'm very satisfied like as if i've eaten to a 4 star restaurant even though this is like a fast food. The food was good as well as presentation, even the ambience of the place was really good like you're not in the Philippines and you're in Singapore or Taiwan which makes the eating experience memorable and enjoyable.
