Sushi Yum Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Manila

Here is an honest review! We are foreigners coming from the midwest in the US. We did some research because I wanted more affordable sushi. Upon walking in we were seated right away. The atmosphere was friendly and there were several others already eating. The menu was great and we ordered the chicken ramen, miso soup, plain rice and futo maki. The ramen: the chicken was a little chewy/grissel-ey but the broth and noodles were outstanding. The miso soup did not disappoint and was a good portion! The rice was great but I'm not sure how you could mess plain rice up. The futo maki was ok for the price but I would not order it again. It just did not taste super fresh. We plan to come back to try more and are overall delighted with our experience.

Salmon sashimi ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Aburi Sushi Salmon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ superb. Torched salmon with cream cheese and special sweet soy. Fish and Vegetable Tempura ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ( fish is nice and fresh but butter of the vegetable tempura could have been better with that signature white crispy batter instead of a color of okoy na gulay. But the dip is good and the overall taste is not bad at all and would order it again Dalandan Juice ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Service is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ they are smile and polite. Server is attentive and I don't need to raise my hand twice.

This place is such a hidden gem! I'm from California, and my friends recommended this place on my Chinatown food trip. The price is not too expensive and the quality of the food is good. I highly recommend the ebi tempura especially for children, my 5-year old loved it. 🥰 Personally, I enjoyed the beef curry rice.
