I accidentally stumbled upon Tasty Dumplings when I was passing by Masangkay St., one sweaty afternoon. Since it's already lunch time and this place is the nearest resto , I might as well go try their stuff. Upon googling what's the most sought after dish in the resto, which is the Pork Chops, I ordered one , plus soy milk. The pork chop, priced at 195 Philippine pesos, is wider than my head. I think this is one of the best pork chops I tasted , even better than Atoy's and Aling Tuding's. The chops are not oily, have a golden crispy exterior and the meat is soft. The flavors can be described as savoury, slightly sweet and full of umami. The fried dumplings did not disappoint either, each is flavorful, with meaty goodness. And the dumplings are not dry and the wonton wrappers are crunchy. The staff are efficient. The place may not look fancy but it has a homey feel to it. My belly is very much satisfied. 4...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant last Chinese New Year, expecting a large crowd. We waited outside the shop for at least an hour in the heat of the sun. While we understood the situation due to the occasion, some seating outside would have made the wait more comfortable.
As for the food, it was very satisfying, especially the pork chop, which was as big as my plate and incredibly flavorful. I wasn't a big fan of their dumplings, as I found the vegetable taste more prominent than the meat, but my friends enjoyed them, so it seems to be a matter of personal preference.
The owner was very hands-on, and considering the large number of customers, the service was acceptable. We had to wait a long time for our food to arrive, but we understood it was due to the busy occasion. The waiters and owners did their best to ensure everyone...
Read moreThis shop was one of the recommended stops whenever you feel like going for a Binondo food trip, so we decided to give it a try. Bannering their claim at the front, we tried their fried dumplings, steamed kuchay dumpling, and their porkchop noodles. They’re actually good, you’re really getting that Chinese food specialty in every serving. For sure you’ll never be unhappy with their porkchop that is even bigger with their plate (i am not sure if they did this on purpose just to look big but regardless it’s huge). It actually tastes good too, crunchy on the outside and flavorful inside. I did not like the noodles that much, tastes a little bland for me(maybe because of the overwhelming porkchop).
All in all, this shop lived up to its name. Will surely go back to try more...
