Melo's is extremely fancy and elegant. The food has quite large portions and tastes top of the line. My wife and I had their 4 course steak which totaled to around P14k, we were served some type of chowder with very soft bread (10/10), next was a Caesar salad (10/10), followed by the steak with foie gras (10/10), and finishing up with a chocolate desert which is was slightly underwhelming (7/10). My only complaint is that we didn't know what we were eating with the 4 course until we tasted it. No one told us anything about it and the servers seemed dead, like there was no soul. One of the servers stared right at us for 3 minutes while we were waving. However, other than the one daydreaming server the service was perfectly timed and efficient. I wouldn't come back again only on the basis that I can go to Molito and find similar quality food for under P4k, though if you are celebrating something like an anniversary or a job promotion this...
Read moreWe availed of BDO's 64% off for their steak meal, with choices of different kinds of steak, that came with sides of mashed potato or plain or steak rice, a Caesar salad and dessert. The steak I had was Angus, though it was sliced on the thin side but it was soft and flavorful. The sides were ok, steak rice wasn't up Wolfgang's standard, just so-so. What we really liked about them is the restaurant itself is nice, quiet and intimate as we had a get together that needed a lot of discussion without the noise of a Chinese restaurant.
The service was excellent, our orders came fast and correctly, the wait staff were very friendly too. They closed at 10:30 pm but since there were lively conversations going on amongst our group of 10 they let us stay till 11:30 pm. Never once reminding us we had to go. Highly recommend them for the quiet ambiance, good steak and food and...
Read moreDec 20, My husband made a reservation for two indoors with Jojo via phone call. Dec21, I arrive at exactly 7pm, only to be asked by a young lady staff from across the room, "Ano pangalan!?" I politely said my name when she walked over. "Wala pangalan mo." "Labas po kayo." No menu, no setup, no fan; Just dusty unorganized monobloc chairs and a table under Christmas lights. Time passed, she never went out.
My husband went in, spoke to the lady manager, and asked for Jojo. She apologized then she offered a table reserved to "Ms Joanna G**e." Yes, the name was on a handwritten piece of paper pasted on a reserved table topper.
I was very upset by this time, and decided to just leave. The manager asked for my name, email and number, and again, no results.
All memories in Acuña adorned walls, discarded by a horrible service team. What a total...
