We tried two desserts. The bread pudding and a brownie. Both were excellent and clearly made with care. The ice cream, purchased by the restaurant, was a lower quality and detracted from the desserts. A higher quality ice cream and the bread pudding would have fit in at an international five star restaurant in Manhattan. The chocolate brownie is a sugar overload. We were cautioned on this. And yes, it should come with a shot of insulin. Not to my taste but I would say it is right on target and perfect for those looking for super sweet.

The burgers were good. Not great, but good. For Americans looking for a taste of home they are probably some of the easier to access good burgers around Alona. Based on my experiences 'on the beach' I can see how they are worth the walk for someone homesick for a burger. But if you can travel a few kilometers and know where to go, there are better options.

The weakest point is the problem that plagues most burgers around here - the beef. The meat patties are overground and overmixed to the point of being between a meatloaf and sausage. This is likely how they arrive. Unless a restaurant grinds in-house it is very hard to source a solid 15-20% fat grind and would likely increase the price 15-20%. Outside of the beef the burgers are well built with a good bun and other fixings. If you want spicy, order extra jalapenos. Their 'spicy' is quite mild. In sum, they are good, but that is a relative term.

As for the physical plant, it is upstairs in an open air carendaria type setting. Proper for the tropics, but lacking any aesthetic.

I might go back, but would look beyond their burgers. My guess is that the breakfasts...

Where to start??? I'll start that breakfast for me will determine if ppl around me will enjoy or will suffer.... Today they will enjoy. We found Mahalo restaurant online after typing good breakfast on Google. My partner and I arrived to a huge "hello welcome and good morning" from Steve the owner. We ordered the big breakfast for two (I forgot the name). We subbed the sausage for extra bacon. Everything was darn great. Fresh on point. Coffee was excellent. Take the home fries they r just great. The only issue I have is.....why didn't I discover this place sooner....it's our last day on the island. But we will promise to come back and to dineand to get great service (the service team r great) in Mahalo

PS Steve the owner just a great dude. Very warm hearted kinda guy. We had a great conversation.

I highly recommend this great place. I...

Our first meal in Philippines - and it certainly did not disappoint! The most amazing burgers, with REAL mozzarella (I have been trying to find all over south east Asia)!! Everything about the meal was quality, including the meat which was to die for. They also do amazing shakes with fresh fruit, and offer water for the table which I thought was great as we usually order a big bottle. The service was amazing from the minute we walked in, and this place has really left an impression on us so much we are coming back for breakfast tomorrow (I hear the chilli cheese omelette is unreal). Thanks to Steve and his team, we will be back 😊 great hosts, great atmosphere and great food....

I had the pleasure of visiting Mahalo restaurant, and it was a delightful start to my day! The food was simply amazing and the service was prompt and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. In one day we ordered New York sandwiches (with salmon) and the owner came and told us that unfortunately they don’t have salmon anymore and they are struggling to bring it, but after a few more minutes he came again and told us that he is able to bring salmon in a few more minutes if we still want to keep the order for the sandwiches and we did so. Overall, Mahalo restaurant is the ideal spot for breakfast lovers. I’m already looking forward to my next visit—highly recommend it!

Went here with my mom a while ago for a quick bite during a quiet hour in the afternoon. Judging from other photos it seems like it can get pretty lively during other times, though. The staff is nice and chill. I had the Mahalo Burger and it was delicious. I’ve never been anywhere even remotely near the US or Hawaii but that burger sure did make me feel as if I was. On another note, the mango shake was amazing. I always order a mango shake at every restaurant that has it available and out of all the ones I’ve had, the shake here has to be high up my tier list. Simple, classic, and very yummy. ^-^ I’m glad I got to stop by here during the time I was in Panglao.
