Dec 2023: First time to try this newly opened bar in Parqal. The place is small and the display area is a bit lacking. The wine and spirit collection is not that impressive.
The food served was good except for the French Onion Soup. There were pieces of laurel leaves when I ate the soup. It should be taken out before it was served to us.
The Pastrami sandwich and Tenderloin with Truffle sauce is really good. But the fish in the fish and chips was a bit dry. I'm not a fan of the red snapper.
I also ordered a Mojito, it's perfectly mixed not too strong.
The only negative comment I have is the bathroom. It has a strong, stinky smell. I hope they would address this issue coz it's a bit of a letdown.
Jan 2024: We are back to try other dishes and drinks. The Crispy Squid Heads is delicious. I love the Beef Bourguignon with mashed potatoes. We also ordered the Beef Tenderloin with Truffle oil open faced sandwich, Lemonade & Lime and Dalandan Mint shakes...everything tasted great!
Apr 2024: We availed their buy 1 take 1 cocktails. The Mojito is good 👍
Aug 2024: We rented the place to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The food and service were excellent. Great job on the decorations and table...
Read moreAfter a Big Bad Wolf haul, I looked for a good place to eat and I was quite delighted to find a place called CIERTO who had French onion soup and pastrami sandwich on its menu. A quiet nice place. But food is not impressive. First time I had french onion soup that is real salty, I managed to only have a few spoons. The fries were crispy but salty.(One can actually appreciate all the salt crystals on the picture). The beef pastrami of about 2 thin slices is good but the onions were not caramalized enough. (The thickness of the pastrami seen in the menu is a far cry from the actual served.) I made a feedback on the food for improvement. But the waiter, told me, "I would like to tell you that ALL EUROPEAN DISHES ARE SALTY." I was aghast, but I told them nicely, that if you are in a deli, and the food on the pricier range, I would expect more. European dishes tends to be less seasoned and you allow your clients to season according to their preferred level of saltiness and that is what the salted shaker is for. Must be that the Chef is having a bad day and oversalted everything. Oh how I wish they actually accept constructive criticisms and do...
Read moreFood alone was just okay. Some of our dishes were good (the chorizo, the souvlaki with rice), the others were really mediocre (calamari, blackened salmon, cream of broccoli soup). The real issue however was while we were told our food orders would take 25-30 minutes, in actuality nearly two hours later we still hadn't received all our food. The first dish took over an hour to be served, and for a group of six, serving one tiny calamari appetizer an hour after our orders were taken was just ridiculous.
Infinitely worse than the extremely delayed food service however, was lack of any clear communication from the staff, and when leaving, the arrogant attitude of the manager.
I can understand if the kitchen was having a bad day and food service was going to be delayed. The least restaurant management can do in that situation is to clearly communicate this with their patrons and be apologetic. Instead we were met with rude glares, silence, and zero understanding for having us sit for nearly two hours without ever completing our original food order.
Would never return, and wouldn't recommend this...
