Dylan Café | Parqal — Restaurant in Parañaque

Visited Dylan for a coffee break around 4 in the afternoon. We are quite excited because from the outside, the place looks inviting already.

We are seated on the corner of the place which was the nearest to the counter. Unfortunately, it is a bit warm on our location and requested if they could lower down the temperature but it seems like they have no control on it (It was being controlled by the building admin, if I got it right). They did not offer any options to us to transfer or even a fan.

Next, ordering was quite disappointing. Considering that we are located near the counter, it was hard to get a personnel’s attention (even though there were a lot of them) for our orders and that forced us to stand and make our orders in the cashier area. Might sound demanding but the rest of the customers are ordering through their staff and everything has equal percentage of service charge to pay so I guess it is fair enough to be disappointed. Another thing is their display. A lot of the display are fake display. I am not a fan of it and it is not a good thing considering that you are offering pastries. I even took a photo of the display for us to choose from. We decided to get some cookies but it is only during ordering that we informed that only 3 flavors are available, frustrating.

Food is kind of subpar for us. Cookie was way too far from how the fake displays look like. Forgot to take a picture but it is really different from how a normal cookie should look like. It was like baked in a circular mold. Not impressed by the taste as well. We tried two flavors, red velvet and caramel toffee, find the latter better. For the coffee, we find it a bit bland. It might just be not for our liking.

To add, the place looks elegant but I was overwhelmed with the decorations plus the Christmas decorations they added in.

There’s plenty of room for improvement for this place and we looking forward to it. Also we haven’t tried other menu options from here so we are keeping our fingers crossed for...

One of the few restaurants open in PARQAL. It was a nice experience dining here. I went with friends and we ordered the Crispy Cheese Mushroom Balls, Avo on Toast, Full English Bfast, Pork Belly Carbonara, Prawn Aglio Olio. For dessert we had Banana Caramel Cheesecake pops, Strawberry Cheesecake and the Genmaicha Cookie. I want to say all the mains were amazing. All the elements are present in all the dishes, there’s the salt, acid, a bit of crunch and freshness. Go ahead and order whatever you like because it seems like there are no wrong choices on the menu. One thing to note, the Genmaicha cookie had actual roasted rice bits on it which were tough to chew on. It made eating it unpleasant even though the flavors were excellent.

When ordering, 3 of our initial choices were not available. Hope they can sort their supplies out so this can be avoided.

On the decor, it was impeccable. Although I noticed they used synthetic flowers as center piece. They also don’t have a restroom. You have to use the mall restroom nearby. I brought a folding bike when we visited and they were kind enough to let me leave it inside...
