Chili's — Restaurant in Pasay

Willing to make right! I have passed by this restaurant many times when I have been in Mall of Asia looking for something to eat. It looks nothing special from the outside. But then finally I thought I would give the place a try! Chili's offers a little bit of the usual stuff for this category of restaurants. Tex Mex, ribs, chicken, seafood, sandwiches, burgers, steaks, salads etc. They also offer lunch combos. Actually it took me a while for deciding what to take. Many of the dishes in the menu looked very delicious. I finally decided to go for the Monterey Chicken. Grilled chicken breast topped with BBQ sauce, crispy bacon, cheese, diced tomatoes and green onions. Served with mashed potatoes and steamed fresh veggies. The waitress asked me if I wanted fried mushrooms together as a side dish. I really got the impression from her that the mushrooms were complimentary. So I didn't distinctively ask for the price, which of course I should have done. The food was quickly on the table and the portion was huge and delicious. The price for the Monterey Chicken was 485 PHP. When I got the bill they had charged me additionally 220 PHP for the mushrooms. The portion of the mushrooms had been very small. So I felt disappointed of the expensive price and the way the waitress had handled her upselling. So I asked for the supervisor and explained the situation. To my surprise she was very understanding and immediately offered me a compensation free of choice. So I ordered The Deep Fried Cheesecake as a dessert for 350 PHP. From the feeling of disappointment to satisfaction I become a very full satisfied customer. ​They also had a strong and fast WiFi net and clean and fresh comfort rooms. I just read your on going coupon with molten chocolate freebie with minimum purchase of 750. We had this experience in SM Mall of Asia branch, our go to Restau is Chili's even on our date nights with my ex boyfriend now my husband. We celebrated his birthday as family of 3 together with our baby last August 1, 2022. I told them that it's my husband birthday I heard them say that they will give us free slice of cheesecake as a birthday present. We usually go to Chili's even on my friend's birthday so I know that cheesecake and molten chocolates are the usual freebie so you can get a cake for your birthday

To my surprise they gave us a piece of ice cream. My husband didn't like it because you know ice cream do melt so he didn't want his wishes to melt that time. He was disappointed. Chili's is his best restaurant choice ever but he told me we would not eat there again. I'm also disappointed, we are only 3 including my 1year old baby and our bill is almost 2400+ I paid via Gcash so I have proof. Is that bill not enough for us to have a legit birthday slice of cake?

Also, their waiters and waitress are not as friendly as before. the manager didnt visit our table to give us some coupon unlike before. We ask the waiter to have our unlimited tostada chips for takeout and told him to full it just like before. (we haven't refill even once so would that be a burden to you?) He said he couldn't so that's fine.

I would like the management to read this kind of scenario because we are frustrated and we would not like it to happen again to other customers.

The food itself was fine. Pretty much exactly as expected - after all, it's Chili's, not fine dining. And the service was good too. So why two stars, you may ask. Good question - because it was a flaming rip-off, that's why. Not only was it breathtakingly overpriced to begin with. We ordered a combo that based on the menu pictures, contained half portions, with no warning whatsoever that the portions were smaller than the menu pics. Even worse, they charged VAT, without any notice on the menu (that I could find) disclosing that prices were not inclusive of VAT. I'm pretty sure this disclosure is required by law. Anyway, I have no plans to go back. It's not that I can't afford it. I just don't like feeling like I've...
