Oldtown White Coffee — Restaurant in Quezon City

It was not long ago when we last visited SM Fairview but we didn’t notice this restaurant. I know this coffee brand but wasn’t aware that they have a restaurant too.

There were only 2 tables occupied when we entered. We ordered the ff for 2pax (P1095 total bill):

*N3 Old Town Curry Laksa Mee *R3 OldTown Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken *R2 OldTown Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang *C3 OldTown White Coffee - Hazelnut (hot) *C9 OldTown White Coffee - Chan (hot)

Comments: I remember liking Hazelnut when I bought their instant coffees. It has a stronger taste but sweeter than the Cham. Since I’m avoiding sweet stuff, I now like the Cham better.

*We didn’t like the nasi lemak served to us because it’s not fully cooked. I already noticed the rice when it was served but ai still took a bite to taste. Matigas pa tlaga. The mgr (?) asked to replace it with their flavored rice instead. We accepted kaysa no rice at all. 😅 less 1 star for that. Nasi lemak meal isn’t complete without it. 😝 *the laksa took a while before it was served. *I liked the laksa when i first tasted it but after finishing my rice meal, parang naumay na ko sa laksa. So next time, just choose either a noodle or rice meal. Super Filling din kasi.😅 oh, i didn’t like ung parang fermented tofu and chewy tofu in it. (Not sure what they’re really called). *They only have 2 staff on the floor and 1 lady isn’t very attentive or nakapwesto sa spot where she has no full visibility of all customers. The mgr was in the kitchen but goes to the dining area from time to time.

i would go back for the coffee and try others in the menu. Hopefully the nasi lemak is fully cooked...

My husband and I decided to try this new Malaysian restaurant at SM Fairview. We are familiar with the Old Town brand so we’re excited to try their food and of course their drinks.

Food 5/5 We ordered BBQ chicken with flavored rice, Old Town Nasi Lemak with crispy chicken. And for drinks we got Old town Teh Tarik (cold) and Old town white coffee (cold). And I’m telling you their food is great. I didn’t expect that peanuts, dilis and rice would compliment each other. Specially with the spicy sauce it’s really good. And their drinks taste authentic Malaysian drink. However they put too much ice (you can check in the picture that the glass is full of ice) so I think there wasn’t much actual drink. Next time i might request for no ice at all to enjoy the drink.

If you are craving for Malaysian food and drinks this is the place to go.

Service 3/5 We’re just the only customer when we are there. And we really had a hard time getting their attention even though it’s just us. You can see in the photo (attached here) that the restaurant is pretty empty. We’re sitting by the entrance because we brought our dog. Aside from that crew greeted us and served us properly. So three out of five.

Atmosphere 5/5 Place is clean and simple. The music is just right. It just opened a few months ago so the furnishing is still fresh looking.

We just want to take note of their straw, it’s Bio-Degradable. good job on deciding to use this straw and we hope that more restaurant would consider using this instead of plastic and paper straws.

Overall still 5/5 for me and...

The Customer Service is so Awkward.

The short lady at the front near the outside menu is awkward. She could not hear what I was saying & was not on point with the main parts of our talk about ordering food. I feel like she is still new so I worked with it. I just have to mention this on this review. On the other hand, the server was awkward too. I felt like she was STARING at me the entire time while I was eating my food. That felt uncomfortable bruhhhhh! But it's whatever. These are just minor things yet still are worthy mentioning on this review as room for improvement next time & for other customers as well. You're welcome. The Curry Laksa Mee was PERFECTLY AUTHENTIC. I love the entire dish. The soup was Malaysian style flavour of Indian curry. The noodles were great although I didn't really like the hard big noodles. Too chewy & hard. The tofu & meat were good. I didn't really like the chicharon. I don't like chicharon in general. The veggies were GREAT. Atmosphere...
