Taking reservations was a bit of a hassle because they dont really text you with a confirmation and they get the name wrong. I suggest that they take reservations on a quieter place because they have trouble hearing and taking my name and my number. After that, they said they will text me with a confirmation but they dont. So I had to call them numerous times to confirm. As for the food, I like that they check with us if we have certain allergies. As for the person serving us, he wasn't really that attentive because we ordered Calamari as an appetizer which is supposed to be served first. Then when we followed up, I think they may have forgotten it, but they insisted that it was already in the kitchen. We were already done eating but we still waited for the Calamari because we were told that it will be out in 2 mins. 10 mins passed and still no Calamari, so we just had it to go. Then for desserts, we ordered one of each of the 3 cakes available to same person serving us. He repeated the order, then when he delivered the order, he only delivered 2 cakes. So, maybe he was just having a bad day. As for the airconditioning, it was terribly cold, my mom got sick the next morning. We tried to be relocated, but since it was Mother's Day, there was none available but even if there were, it was just really cold. I asked if they could like set the temperature up to 2 notches, but they refused even if there are already 4 other tables requesting it. Lesson here is, if you don't feel comfortable with the place, just leave, focus on your health and well-being. Breads and Pastries are all sold out at 6pm when we arrived. Lastly, parking is terrible. To conclude: Food and drinks are great, avoid the lasagna and the healthy green juices. Wild Mushroom salad, pasta verde and squid ink pasta is very good. Server is not really serving right. Area is too cold. Breads and Pastries are sold out too early. Reason for this is this branch delivers to other branches. I guess they value their other branches more than their dine-in customers. Parking...
Read moreToday was a really bad experience at WildFlour at Quezon City. First off, the wild flour breakfast was ok, the eggs and bacon good. That’s about the only positive thing I can say.
As for the rest: The Gambas was bruised and soft. The chowder was thin and watery and did not taste good. We asked for cold water with ice; we got not-cold water with no ice. Ordered a croissant loaf from the bakery; we had to follow it up because the rest of the food had arrived and the loaf didn’t. The croissant loaf when it arrived was obviously old, the inside was tough, the crust was hard and chewy. Frankly, upon cutting, they should not have served it at all. It was so bad, we did not take it out even if we only had one slice. We left the rest. We asked a server if they had sundaes - she said they did not have sundaes, that is a “different branch.” We persisted, and showed her the menu, whereupon she said, ah, ok. My friend then asked her, how many scoops in a sundae, and the server answered, one scoop. I interrupted and said, oh, I’ve had sundaes here, it’s three scoops. Again, server just nodded. She left to ask another server something, then came back and said, no, it’s just one scoop, you have to choose from the three. And I said, but they are pre-made sundaes, we don’t choose the flavors, sauces or toppings. At which point my friend said, never mind, let’s just get the bill. So we got the bill and very calmly talked to the manager, told him all the points, and yes he did apologize.
Look. We would probably quibble less if this were fast food, or an ordinary restaurant. But WildFlour sells itself as an upmarket, high-end trendy spot with good food. And with prices like that, that is frankly the least of what we would expect. So yes, it was a doubly disappointing experience.
At the end of it all, the manager, amidst profuse apologies, offered us a WildFlour loyalty card. We thanked him, but declined. Based on this experience, it is highly unlikely that we...
Read moreAfter a great experience in Wildflour BGC, we looked for another branch closer to home, so when we got a chance, we visited Wildflour Timog.
Pros: The look, vibes, and design of this branch are miles ahead of the BGC branch both in size and interior aesthetic. The high ceilings are a welcome change from the smaller spacing of BGC. The lighting, which is still on the low side, is not as dark as in BGC. There are more offerings here, especially of the pastries. All good-looking and instagrammable from the long display. There were so many choices, but we ended up choosing the same bibingka cheesecake we loved in BGC. But somehow, it wasn't as delicious. Same with the other 4 pastries, including salted egg croissants and pan au chocolat, but they didn't leave up to our expectations. We wondered why? The brewed coffee and pistachio latte are just ok, but maybe not worth the prices. The mac and cheese is so overly cheesy (think drowning in cheese), which we appreciate as it justifies the price. But the different pasta used is on the thicker side, which made the whole dish a little bland. I had to ask for salt. There are staff assigned for each area, but somehow, the staff assigned in our row isn't as attentive as that in BGC, who would quickly refill our water without asking. That's not what happened in this branch.
Cons: Very limited parking and once the small parking in front is occupied, the only choice is street parking. Again, the price is on the...
