If there's one thing I can say about Thai BBQ Original Restaurant in Vertis North, it's that they truly understand the essence of Thai cuisine. Every dish we ordered was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to authenticity and quality.
Our gastronomic journey began with the Pad Thai. It perfectly encapsulated the essence of the dish, hitting all the right notes with its sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors. We were initially daunted by the serving size, but the exquisite taste had us finishing the plate in no time.
Next up was the Eggplant and Basil with Ground Pork. The delicate balance of flavors was simply astounding. The eggplant was beautifully soft and silky, the ground pork was superbly tender, and the basil and chilis added just the right amount of aromatic punch without being overpowering.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the large platter of meats, the name of which I regrettably cannot recall. This culinary masterpiece featured crunchy liempo, soft bbq liempo, and pandan chicken, all perfectly complemented by a sharp mango salad. The freshness of the pork was unmistakable, and the accompanying spicy vinegar and sweet chili sauce elevated the entire dish. The generous serving size had us taking home leftovers, much to our delight.
We also indulged in the Binagoongan Rice. The dish was a fantastic blend of flavors: the sourness of the mango, the saltiness of the bagoong, the spiciness of the chilis, and the umami of the meat. Despite my diet, I was tempted to ask for seconds.
We ended our meal on a sweet note with the mango sticky rice and the Thai Tub Tim Grob or red water chestnuts. Both desserts were wonderfully refreshing, rounding off an exceptional dining experience.
Thai BBQ Original Restaurant is a culinary treasure. From the authentic dishes to the generous servings, every aspect of our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. We're already looking forward to our next visit. If you're a fan of genuine Thai cuisine, then you definitely don't want to miss out...
Read moreThere's good, there's bad, but overall it's OK. All sauces don't make an impact to the food at all. Sauce for the satay chicken was bad. Chicken skewers was dry, and the pork belly was below average. I recommend the soft shell crab curry instead. Pad Thai was also good. Everything else was just OK. Service was slow, including getting the plain rice to the table, but at least the food was hot. The chairs were incredibly uncomfortable. I noticed everyone was either leaning forward or leaning back. If there's any reason not to go back, it would be because of the chairs. I could also imagine the discomfort of the diners at the first few tables near the entrance. The serve staff always go in the tight space between the diners and the bar. And since there's always a bartender, I could also imagine the discomfort of diners in front of the bar as they feel like someone is hovering over...
