I had high expectations because I loved Ippudo when I went to Ginza. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied nor pleased with both the ramen and the service at this Vertis North branch.
First off, a FLY inside the shop! The servers saw me warding off the fly yet they did not do anything. I sat at the counter in front of the kitchen and I must say hygiene should be reinspected. This and the fact that it was too dark inside made me feel uncomfortable. The ambience was not pleasant. You can literally see it from the picture.
Second, the ramen was a letdown. I availed the limited edition Hanami ramen. Presentation-wise, it was promising because they seemed generous with the pork. Unfortunately, they were cold and did not taste freshly cooked. The broth was nowhere near the one I tried in Tokyo. This one tasted very average for an authentic Japanese brand. About 700 pesos for this? I kinda felt robbed. I had better ramen that was way cheaper.
Third, the service. I was seated literally next to their server yet they couldn’t even hear my request for water because they were too busy chatting with the cooks. Also, the staff that served me had an indifferent attitude especially when he took the feedback form from my table. It’s like he no longer wanted to serve my change.
Really horrible experience. This branch is tarnishing the reputation of this brand. Will still come back to their shops in Japan though, just not...
Read moreIf you are looking for a restaurant that serves amazing Ramen, look no further than this gem. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere that will make you feel right at home.
The ramen is some of the best I've ever had, with rich and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles (I suggest order the very firm noodles), and tender slices of chashu pork. The chicken karage is also a standout dish, with crispy and juicy fried chicken that is full of flavor.
The gyoza are some of the most delicious I've ever tasted, with perfectly seasoned filling and crispy, golden-brown skins. And if you're a fan of sushi, you absolutely have to try the aburi sushi, which is seared to perfection and absolutely bursting with flavor.
The service at this restaurant is also exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who are always ready to help. Very rare that I get asked my water temp preference, that's an extra touch of excellent customer service. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or colleagues, this is the perfect place to enjoy some amazing Japanese cuisine in a welcoming and relaxed setting.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food and great service. You won't be...
Read moreThis is another good ramen chain. Their choices revolve around their signature pork broth which they claim is boiled for 15 hours to release all of its flavors. The ramen noodles are the crinly variety which makes it really good at "picking up" their savory broth. The toppings are just the right quantity, and I give a special thumbs up to the torchec variants of their Cha Su Pork which you can get as ramen toppings.
They serve a basic set of condiments that you can use to slightly tweak the flavor of your ramen. Fresh garlic, ground pepper and roasted sesame seeds, along with chili powder and a fragrant chili oil all make for extremely good accompaniments to your bowl of ramen.
We also tried their gyoza, karaage and torched salmon rolls - all of which are quite good as well.
Service was quick and the wait staff was very attentive to anything you may need. Overall, good place to eat at when in...
