The food was pretty good, although I do have some observations to make further down. There was a mishap with our service that upset my wife greatly. She’s not very good at that cold anger that’s so useful in sports. Basically, the waiter made a mistake in taking our order so that two of us received a burger, sides, and a drink while my wife received only a lemonade. That would not be such a big deal except that it took 45-50 minutes to find out the mistake -even though we did ask what was delaying her dish. At first we thought her four cheeses burger required a more elaborate preparation.
The first two burgers arrived after perhaps 15 minutes, but we waited for her burger to arrive for about 10 minutes, sharing fries and onion rings before deciding to eat our burgers. We did so slowly, delaying for her burger to arrive. After eventually finishing ours, we waited another five minutes before calling over the waiter for explanation. He said he would follow up the order. We waited another 10 or 15 minutes before my wife decided to cancel the order. The manager came over, and then the waiter. It was then that we learned that he had never taken note of the burger my wife had requested. As a result, when he checked with the cook, he found the (incomplete) order had been completed. Perhaps he could have asked my wife what she had ordered in the first place. It was the waiter’s mistake, but there were extenuating circumstances. I could understand him getting a little confused. Still, he should have double checked with us to make sure he understood correctly. I had been watching him most of the time that I was there, and I could see that he was really putting his heart into his work. He was making a real effort. However, he is a young person and needed training or coaching. It was obvious that he was rushing to get things done and that was probably why he did not confirm the content if the order with us, nor asked my wife what she had ordered before checking with a cook or, at the very least, after the cook had told him that the order was completed. The manager offered to prepare my wife’s burger for free, but she was so upset that she just wanted to get out of this restaurant. The fries were good. The rings were good, although they had a barbecue powder. I could see how people would like that. I personally would prefer a crunchy batter with a juicy and tasty ring of onion inside, without the sweet barbecue powder. The two of us that did have burgers had the cheeseburger and it was good. The lemonade was almost unsweetened and the iced tea was very definitely sweetened. Probably the Arnold Palmer, a mix of the two, would be just right. I had a San Miguel Pale and they served it in a cold bottle with an iced beer mug. Fabulous. 1100 pesos seems a bit much for basically two (not very) fast food meals plus a lemonade and a beer. I guess I am a bit of an old fogy with too many years under his belt when food cost a...
Read moreWe ordered deals of the day, came with choice of shoe string ff, or onion rings or chicken pops and sweet tea. We both took the fries and ordered a side of onion rings, more then enough rings for a couple. They were served hot with a nice crispy batter, I will say not a fan of their special seasoning. I am pretty confident it's a steak spice sprinkled on top of the rings as it over powers the taste of rings, also the rings weren't given much time to drain well enough as quite greasy when served. French fries were crispy and warm not temp hot and become cold really fast. Both of our sandwiches were appetizing to the eyes, the wife enjoyed her fish sandwich so much so that had taken a bite before was able to take pictures. The burger I had was served hot and very juicy, much better than most of the American fast food burger places. We will eat here again just for the sandwiches, the reason for the know downs on rating they were steady when ate, but not busy. Table wasn't bussed until we left, ice tea had so much sugar had to dilute with water in order to drink. For onion rings get rid of the seasoning and will be a hit, even parmesan would be better than...
Read moreSo I walked into 8 Cuts in Serendra, ready to satisfy my burger cravings. But little did I know, I was signing up for a game of spot-the-server. My first waiter? Completely ghosted me. I was starting to wonder if I had turned invisible—or if this was some sort of Hunger Games twist where I had to fight for service.
Thankfully, another waiter picked up on my I’ve-been-here-for-a-while face and swooped in to save the day. Kudos to that person, truly the MVP of the night.
Now, can we talk about the vibe? One table had so many boxes piled up it looked like the staff was preparing for an impromptu move-out or starting a pop-up storage unit business. Talk about multitasking!
The food? It’s still the solid, juicy burgers you love from 8 Cuts, but the service and ambiance really threw me off. So here’s my verdict: If you’re coming for the burgers, go for it. Just make sure you pack a little patience—and maybe a snack for the wait.
Rating: 1/5 because the burgers can't...
