Tenya (Market Market BGC Taguig) — Restaurant in Taguig

It is one of the worst Japanese restaurants I have ever been to. That is, if this place even qualifies as Japanese food. Whoever gave this place 5 stars needs a moment of reflection, as there is no way this place can even muster a 2 star cumulative at best.

The only redeeming fact was that the staff was nice.

I recently visited Japan for two weeks. So, I was exposed to good Japanese food.

The beef bento box was poorly done.. The beef had a ground beef consistency, the sushi was not fresh, the area that contained utensils was disgusting (some forks were pointed upwards, while others were pointing downwards in a pool of cold water), the tempura was cold and stale. In fact, nothing was fresh.

I barely ate my food. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. It caters to the locals.

I felt I was suckered into this...

I hate leaving this bad review because they were so friendly. But the food is just bad and very poor quality.

I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento.

The chicken was karage type and fried as opposed to being grilled. I wasn't expecting it to be prepared that way.

The fried tempuras are not fresh at all and the coating is very stale. It was also cold to the touch.

The maki rolls smell like it went rancid and had a pungent odor. Smell before you eat.

The doriyaki is the shape of a bear and looks so cute. But that's all it was....all looks and absolutely no substance because the cake is very dry. Almost like sand paper.

Again, the server was very very nice but the food is outright terrible.
