This place is a conundrum, on one hand I want to hate it because the service was as bad as an East German cafe, which for some this will mean a lot, for others picture the worst and times by 5 ending with an eye roll from said employee. Now granted I don’t want to throw stones but from the start of walking in this person was not having a good day. That being said, the other half of this “problem” is that the rest of the establishment was absolutely amazing except for waiting over an hour ( I blame server for this not chefs as we were alone when we ordered but watched two other tables with apps get all their food before us) so again if I take away terrible food timing and this employee this place is awesome. The design is great from furniture to stone choice in hall way and the most important part the food, wow wow wow nyc / London / Paris etc quality and if you look at the price blows all them out of the water!! Want to return and pray she isn’t working. I must say the food was beyond excellent, creative fresh and “new” for me a sushi asshole this is saying a lot! 10 stars to the chef!!! Hope to return and have new experience. Want to love this...
Read moreIt might be a radical opinion, but let me be frank. After reading all the positive comments about Ato, I finally decided to visit this place. I am a Polish speaking person, but the waiters seemed to be more helpful in case of foreign customers as I noticed a scent of indifference towards me as I walked in and greeted them with simple "dzień dobry". I did not receive an oshibori to clean my hands as I sat down at the bar. Waited around 50 min. for my roll. It contained a fishbone inside. I took immediate notice about that but people behind the scenes stated it is impossible, as tuna contains no fishbones etc. Explained to me that it must have been a piece of shell from soft shell crab. It clearly wasn't, might have been a fishbone from a not properly cleaned station. Anyway, flavourwise the place is average and OK. Good luck making fools from us,...
Read moreOnly pros and no cons about this place. Simple design, perfect central location and totally awesome food. But do not get misled by the outer look and the sushi category. Those guys made art of the sushi meal. From the starter to the main course it is a feast to both eyes and guts, not mentioning the brain. And on the top of it add very nice and friendly staff helping you through the menu and advising on your choices. What is good to know that they do not copy-paste the mainstream sushi places but have their own and unique menu. Nothing of the sort of fancy and looking-good but tasting-bad stuff. It is genuinely original and extremely tasty. For allergic to gluten they have GF soy sauce and also GF unagi that is home made on site. And remember to book in advance since the place is popular and loaded with people during...
