Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review here because my experience was bad. The waiter who did not look very clever took the order for a spaghetti and then I asked him to also bring some bread and butter, natural starter for an Italian restaurant. He asked me if I wanted it as an appetizer or together with the food. I look at him for two seconds, and I knew we had some problem, his response was not too polite either. I wait for 10 minutes with the coke and no bread has arrived, when in real Italian restaurants that i have been across Italy the bread comes immediately. So I decide I should just pay for the coke and go. Meanwhile someone who seemed to behave like the owner, probably a fake Italian who likes to talk too much, was going up and down on an almost empty shop. I tell him that I wait 10 min and not even bread came, and he tells me that I'm nervous, also with a no polite thuggish kind of attitude. So, a real Italian restaurant owner would have acted much differently, but most italian restaurants are fake nowadays and I'm happy i didn't stay there. Who knows who the cooks in the kitchen must be... The menu was also nothing special and most people probably go there for an...
Read moreI can't judge the food as we didn't get to eat in the Angelo (Friday, 20 Oct 2023). Rude staff in all sorts of places in Lodz is not a novelty, but the main (?) waiter in Angelo, even though wearing a white shirt, came across as rather 'thugy' 😱. It was 2 of us and we were waiting for 1 more friend to join. The thugy waiter was explaining to me why he can't give us a decent table for 3 even though there are several empty tables, but their 'system' was so complicated that they don't even use the 'reserved' cards. The very young waitress didn't seem to understand their reservation system either and appeared rather frightened in her workplace. While we're waiting for the friend and the tables still don't fill up, I'm told we can actually move to a better table now. As soon as my friend walked through the door, I decided to leave, since we were such an inconvenience to the restaurant. We took our custom to the nearby Turkish restaurant where staff were polite and spoke English, which was just a bonus as one of us...
Read moreI visited this restaurant right after my studies, because I wanted to eat out and I craved some lasagne. We were greeted by a waiter, who immediately took our coats and seemed like he liked his job. After seeing the interior, I wondered how much I would have to pay to get a meal here, but I was pleasantly surprised. The prices were on the lower side, definitely lower than most of the restaurant offering Mediterranean cuisine in the town. I ordered black tagliatelle with mussels and shrimps. There were lots of mussels and they were cooked properly. The same applies to the shrimps. To summarize, the pasta was great. We additionally ordered a lemonade and a tiramisu. The waiter kept on pouring us the lemonade and asking us whether everything was to our liking. Additionally, when serving us tiramisu, he told us a story about the origin of the dessert's name. The restaurant as well as its bathroom were very clean and looked elegant. Overall, a very...
