This restaurant serves a very very low quality food: herring salad was with a piece of walnut shell that could have injured my teeth or my stomach. The herring itself was of low quality, bought in a supermarket with conservatives etc, extremely oversalted fish soup was made with cubes of frozen minced fish, dried, tasteless and hard to chew main dish (marked as a "local product") was also made of a frozen piece of fish and frozen vegetables. Everything was dried, tasteless and rubber-like fish. I asked a waiter if I should pay for the food that is tasteless and made of low quality products. He deleted the main dish from our bill but still we had to pay for this kind of disgusting food that I even never buy in a supermarket 117 zl. The waiter tried to explain that during that day they sold 45 portions of this fish before our arrival and they didn't have a fresh one....and other illogical things he better not to say. It's obvious that this is just their concept. But low quality frozen supermarket food shouldn't cost like a food in a good restaurant even in a historical centre. I think that no restaurant should ever feed their guests with supermarket food at all. Please, avoid this place or at least write critical reviews if you're fed with low quality harmful food not to let this tendency develop anywhere. In this case silence...
Read moreI had the pleasure to visit this restaurant a couple of weeks ago. When I came across this place online I thought it would be very busy around dinner time but still decided to go. Upon arrival it was surprisingly calm. I was immediately given a place to my liking with a beautiful view of the marina.
The restaurant serves multiple polish dishes and I decided to go with the wild boar for the main course. It was served after a short while which made me believe everything is made in house. By tasting it, I was sure. The meat was tender and almost melted in my mouth paired with a beautifully balanced sauce. The beetroots glaced in honey with thyme counterbalancing the savory sweetness of the meat. 10/10
I was hesitant to order a dessert since the experience of the meat was hard to top. But I did nonetheless, with high expectations hoping them to be met. I ordered the créme brûlee. Which more then met my high expectations. The pudding was perfectly balanced and had a nice touch of orange. It was served together with fresh fruit and a delicious mangodressing. 10/10
My conclusion is that my evening dinner could not have been better and highly recommend to go to Restauracja Bazar when you find yourself in the city of Gdansk. You will be sure of delicious food...
Read moreIt's a small place that could probably get quite crowded at times but I went on a Friday at noon and they still had a few tables with clients mostly foreigners
I've had the Zurek and Golonka and a local beer. Dishes were top notch, not the cheapest compared to other places in Poland but great value for money given the taste.
Service stood out by their very good English and client focused attitude. They were also very funny and entertaining... Buuut that could come through as arrogant to some. Example: customer comes in asking if they have "soap",waiter asks "you mean soup?", Customer says yes :)) waiters were laughing about this and so was I. I paid by card but left 10zl a tip giving a 50 and the waiter asks if I want to leave the while 50, very good spirits, but some might take offense
The food was served in unbelievable time and it tasted very fresh, I guess the menu being rather thin they have a very good process behind preparing it
They only have one beer on tap but it was very good, I will probably go back although there are many places to explore in the city
Definitely...
