Ristorante Sempre Gdańsk — Restaurant in Gdansk

*Updating to 1 star as despite the restaurant comments, I was ill for over 4 days, and I can now see more reviews from 2 years ago reporting how the carbonara gave them food poisoning so clearly they have no interest in improving the food *

The service here is very slow and there is a lot of waiting. After 15 minutes I asked if we could order food and drinks, the woman said yes, began folding blankets and went inside, it was only when I asked again we could order. We seen several groups come and walk out due to waiting round to order. Very strange it's like they don't want the custom . We were glad we stayed as the food was good and seemed worth the wait. My husband had the Spag Bol and me the Carbanora. On eating it it seemed nice, although there was something about the Carbanara taste I could put my finger on. Within an hour of eating at dinner time right through to the evening I've had such an upset stomach. It makes me wonder from the review below if there is something in the Carbanara that causes this. I was visiting Gdansk from London recently, and on my last night (9th September) I was looking for somewhere for dinner close to my hotel. I found Sempre online, and after reading mixed reviews I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed at all! I was given a table really quickly even though it was around 7pm, and my host Iga was brilliant, thank you Iga! : ) Service was quick, unlike many other places in Gdansk where it takes a long time to order another glass of wine, or to get the bill and then pay for it. The food was amazing, I had an octopus starter, and prawn risotto for main. And the wine was delicious. Bardzo klimatyczne miejsce z miejscem zarówno od strony rzeki, jak i z własną oranżerią z boku. Super wystrój, który nadaje posiłkowi wyjątkowości. Udaliśmy się z żoną na rocznicowy obiad. Przymila Pani Julia N. Potrafiła doradzić najlepszą opcję. Widać, że zna dania, które serwuje gościom, a to się bardzo chwali. Zdecydowaliśmy się na Bruschetta z pomidorami, rosół z pierożkami- Brodo, Żona posiliła się jeszcze Gnocchi a ja skoro to pizzeria dałem się skusić na pikantna pizze Sempre.

Bruschetta, poprawna, na zaostrzenie apetytu w sam raz. Żonie przeszkadzały skórki pomidorów.... ale blanszowanie pomidorów koktajlowych to trochę zbyt wiele jak na zwykła przystawkę.

Brodo - rosołek, bardzo smaczny, klarowny, idealnie doprawiony i pyszne pierożki.

Pizza Sempre, bardzo dobre pulchne i chrupiące brzegi. Pizza podawana jest nie pokrojona, co na początku wydało się dziwne. Samo ciasto wyjątkowo cienkie i bardzo miękkie (mogłoby być grubsze i bardziej chrupkie, o trzymaniu trójkata nie ma nawet mowy). Składników w sam raz, bardzo dobry sos pomidorowy, niestety z pikanterii to parę papryczek chili i jedna piripiri, która zaskoczyła mnie najbardziej- nie było to zbyt pikantne danie 3/10, jak mawiał wieszcz "Można podawać dzieciom i kobietom w ciąży". Pikanterię poratowała pyszna pikantna oliwa.

Gnocchi zniknęło zanim zdążyłem skubnąć :) żona mówi, że pyszne i po jej wesołej minie muszę powiedzieć, że w pełni wierzę:)

Na deser Panna Cotta i Sernik z pistacjami..... mmmmm niebo w buzi. Odpowiednio słodkie i pyszne. Cudowne zwieńczenie obiadu! Na koniec do rachunku Pani Julia poczęstowała nas kieliszeczkiem limoncello - słodki likier z kropelką alkoholu.

Wrażenie lokal pozostawił dobre, jedzenie oceniam na pyszne, porcje wystarczające, cena.... no cóż adekwatna do miejsca :) Dziękujemy i.......
