Where to start.. We came with few friends on a Thursday evening.
First surprise, the door of the restaurant is "blocked" with an elastic band (those in airports for example) to prevent you from entering. So it was raining on this cold February evening and they expect you to wait outside under the rain like dogs :-). 5 minutes later (that's long, under the rain) a lady is opening the door (not the elastic band) to ask us if she could help us... So we told here that yes, actually we are not waiting under the rain for the pleasure, we want to eat, genius. So the queen of the elastic band finally allowed us to enter her kingdom of dog customers.
Then the menu. It's fine, few choices. Surprisingly, no beer menu, no prices for those anywhere, absolutely scam-friendly, you are ordering your beer which might be 8pln or 64pln, you'll know later :-) . (I randomly asked for their best seller beer since I had no menu). Oh, yes there is a marketing display for a line of beers on the tables, but no prices as well on those.. :-)
The food ordered (with the wrong sauce) came, it was very good, nothing to complain about.
The room is super noisy, don't expect to be able to talk normally, you have to shout so the person in front of view can hear you. There is echo as well.
The seats and table are very weird. There are lamps above tables but they are quite low. I am 1m80 and I couldn't eat "above" the table since my head was hitting the lamp.
In conclusion,...
Read moreVery disappointing, especially considering the amount of time we waited and all the hype from the reviews. If you're looking for authentic and tasty ramen, this place is definitely not for you. Other ramen places in Kraków are better.
To begin with, we had to wait for over 30 minutes, but to be fair it was right around dinner time. It’d have been better if they had given us the menu card while we were waiting so we could decide what to order. Unfortunately, my phone was dead at that time so I couldn't check it online.
We ordered Pieroźki wonton, Akita ramen, and Tokyo old school. The wontons were warm and delicious, but the taste was a bit weak. As for the ramen, the soup had a unique flavor that I couldn't quite identify, and it didn't taste authentic at all. The overall flavor was also quite weak, and I couldn't even taste the soy sauce. Moreover, the noodles were overcooked and soggy, almost like pasta cooked with baking soda. The chashu were hard and chewy, which was a letdown. The only pro was the way they cooked the eggs, but they served them cold.
I really hope they can improve the quality of their ramen because the staff was nice and the aesthetics of the place were appealing:( I personally...
Read moreOur visit was not a random occurence, no, no, no! Our visit was a well planned action! You see, when there was a food festival in our home location (Košice, Slovakia) there was this truck with ramen soooo good, we tracked it down... Krakow, Poland. And we already knew, we had to come see the "core". So we did, during Christmas season. Only to find out that our airbnb is 6 minutes away by foot from the place. If that's not destiny my friend, then nothing is! And just as at the food festival we got great food but more of it! 👌 Upon arrival the place was crowded that we had to wait for places to sit. ON THURSDAY EVENING! I mean, let that sink in, how good a place has to be, to be crowded on Thursday! Exquisite! The staff was very friendly, the food was good, the cook was tired, but with this amount of people I have only respect for the man that he was able to keep going! 💪This is definitely a must go place if you are a ramen fan! We plan to visit at least once more during our short stay in Krakow. Keep up the great work, much love and support from...
