Bierhalle KRAKÓW — Restaurant in Krakow

Firstly I would like to start this review with if I could rate this 0 I would.

I came here tonight with my partner, as it was her Birthday. The service was poor to start with. Seating us quickly but nobody coming over for 20 minutes so it made me question whether it was self service like many of Krakow's restaurants.

After we had finally given our order our waiter had explained how even though something was not on the menu it was still possible as it on their online menu

After waiting around 30 minutes and nothing more than some breadbowls and 3 grotesque balls of "lard with scratchings".

Which were on Frank , disgusting. They were served with 1 whole pickle and nothing more.

After these were served and with no cutlery I had to ask for some. We were then brought 2 lots by 2 different people

Seems to me like there is no order or communication

After waiting another 30 min, with nothing but some lard and bread to keep us busy to our surprised our mains arrived....before our other starter, luckily enough we was sharing both starters so it wasn't a massive issue as we could eat out mains and then the second starter.

But no.... Our mains were disgusting with my partner's potato cakes looking like a cat had been sick formed into a greasy lump and flung on her plate with 0 care or attention

Mine was a tough piece of "veal" which I am sure was pork covered in greasy in areas and crispy in others batter with a handful of potatoes and nothing more. (Although the menu on both the website and in house for the pork and veal schnitzel states a salad)

After all of this and several complaint's the waiter brings over 2 shots of vodka with a apology. As neither me nor my partner drink often we were not interested, he took them back.

This was not the end of our disappointment, our second starter then arrived with 4 tiny burgers which were called "sliders" with a piece a fish in one smaller than my thumb. I turned it away then and there as we had already been waiting an hour to eat after a busy day.

After finishing our below reasonable mains I asked for the bill immediately as not to have to spend another minute there.

On receive of our bill I notice something not quite right. They had changed me more for my main, after questioning them about this the waiter didn't know, so I asked to speak to the manager who happened to be standing there as well. He stated that the waiter should of told me that my main was a different price. (He didn't )

He took it off the bill along with my partner's main.

However even with this the night was ruined by a shody display of a poorly...

Very disappointing. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. This was our worst restaurant experience during our stay in Krakow.

It is overpriced if you look at what you get, and they overcharged us!

There are so many places where you can get decent food and much better beer than here, so please explore your options! Their beer is just ok, you can go to other places nearby to get better beer for a better price.

I ordered a goat cheese salad with beetroots, which was supposed to come with walnuts and a vinaigrette. When my food arrived it was a salad with almond flakes instead of walnuts, and when I asked about the vinaigrette the waitress brought me some, but with no comment or apology. In addition, there was almost no beetroots, just a couple of thin flakes. And there were big slices of pear.

They acted like this was what I had ordered and did not inform me of the changes when serving it to me. I am allergic to some nuts (luckily not almonds) and I also hate pear, so it was not only disappointing, but very irresponsible by the restaurant to switch ingredients without informing about it.

On the last bite of my meal, there was a loooong hair in the salad. It wasn't mine (It was a different colour, and I had my hair up in a pony tail).

I politely pointed out my disappointment to the waitress, and she offered me one free beer as compensation (frankly, she did not seem to care). With the bill we got two shots which they claimed were cherry vodka, but it tasted like water with cherry aroma.

We paid and left and only noticed after we had left that they had...

Visited here around a week ago and there were only a few other tables occupied. We were greeted by staff who were uninterested in our group and vaguely gestured to sit at a table that hadn’t been cleaned. After a wait, we received menus. They were even slower to take our orders and the food came after another extended period. The food was… edible. We all agreed our mails were very bland and simple. This was an evening where, stupidly, we hadn’t planned where to eat so we stumbled across this hoping it would be okay. Maybe there was a lack of staff during our visit but I’d give this place a miss. Eventually the young lad serving us warmed up to our table and actually displayed a smile after some time, however he looked very stressed throughout. The alcohol was completely mediocre and the pricing was higher than other places...
