We were a group of 11 with a reservation. Showed up, no table arranged, the place was empty, staff idle. They set up the table, it takes around 10 minutes to place our drinks order. About 20-30 minutes later the drinks slowly start coming in. Our African beer was expired, we had to let the staff know. The whole experience here is like somebody took 3 persons that NEVER worked in a restaurant before and made them do a prank/tv show where they try to pull it off for the cameras. Eg we tell the waiter the beer is expired, he picks up one bottle of the table in disbelief, sees it, then leaves, while ignoring to clear the glasses with beer in it, check the other beers on the table (also expired), appologize etc. One of the kids at the table accidentaly spills a glass of juice. Not ideal, but kids are kids and things can happen. We wanted to appologize and announce the staff. No chance. We wait for somebody to come to clear it for about half an hour, finally we get a hold of somebody, explain what happened, and she just does... nothing. She shrugged and said ok and left. A little puddle of juice was left on the floor next to us for the whole evening. Most of our time here, we were just ignored. Large spans of time where noone from the staff could be seen or asked for something. I think the food finally came in around 1.5-2 hours after placing our order. It came literally one plate every 5-10 minutes, spanning about 40 minutes from first plate to last plate served. The food is appalling. The soup is made from concentrate, way too salty, the dishes look like a brown non-descript non-texture non-flavour sort of mash, everything tastes mediocre to poor. The menu is pretty much variations on 2-3 kinds of stews, which have minuscule to almost nonexistant quantities of meat in them. The staff speaks little to no English, making identifying what you are served almost impossible. They served us one plate short of what we had ordered, but it was impossible to identify what they didn't serve or make them understand the issue. I cannot beging to describe how little this place offers in terms of food, services, atmosphere or anything that has to do with the world of hospitality. What is worse is that it is rated 4.7 stars even though most of our issues seem engrained in this place. You can choose pretty much any other restaurant in Krakow and have a better...
Read moreHhhmmmm where do I start... Coming from the UK I had an open mind to receiving African food in Poland. Firstly the waitress told the Polish people that Waakye is from Nigeria which I had to intervene and tell them that it’s in fact Ghanaian. Don’t give people the wrong information, especially when people know the “food wars” between both countries so if you don’t know just say that. Secondly, the food was shoved on the table like we were children being forced to eat. Thirdly the jollof flavour wasn’t bad but the rice was a bit too wet/mushy. Either way it was edible and chicken was fine. The “red red” did not represent the actual meal in the slightest (even down to the colour). Ok you used black eye beans but that was it. It was waaayy to watery and it gave my friend an upset stomach after. Fourthly, when we asked for the bill the waitress came over with the card machine, no bill. I asked her to bring me the actual paper itemised bill and she was huffing and puffing as if I’ve asked her to collect it from her home address. Rubbish service. Lastly, you will leave smelling of food. Anyways, I hope it’s a one off and...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying Dinner Safari because I wanted to enjoy some good Nigerian food while in Kraków, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
I ordered the jollof rice, expecting the rich, flavorful, tomato-based rice that Nigerian jollof is known for. However, the rice was overcooked, lacked the usual jollof flavor, and honestly tasted nothing like authentic jollof rice. The portion of beef stew served with it was very small and didn’t make up for the lack of quality in the main dish.
The staff were polite, and the atmosphere was okay, but the food simply didn’t meet my expectations, especially considering how important proper seasoning and preparation are in West African cuisine.
I hope they can improve on the recipe and portion sizes because Kraków really needs a place that serves genuine, well-prepared...
