Review from a gluten free foodie who loves finding fantastic hummus!
The Food Do you already love hummus? Great! You will find the hummus here the equal of almost any other hummus you could possibly find. Rich, smooth, simple and creamy.
Don't love hummus yet? Maybe you simply need to try great hummus. Come here to do so!
The Venue It is tiny, with room for about a dozen people total and no restroom. Great for dining solo, pairs or a small group, not suitable for larger groups.
In addition to eat in there is take out hummus, cookies and cakes and some packaged foods to buy such as tahini.
The Service Friendly and very keen and helpful in my experience. Also good for gluten free allergy safety. Cross contamination risk is controlled and it is possible to watch your food being prepared on their separate plates.
I had a great conversation with my server before eating which gave me confidence in safety, allowing me to relax and enjoy the world...
Read moreI had the best houmous here, asparagus, truffle and tofu/pumpkin. It was spectacularly presented. The shakshuka was okay, I had much better in the Middle East. The eggs were too runny for my taste and the sauce lacked the spices. I also tried a dessert, that was very tasty (a bread pudding with berries and fresh cream), flat white cofee was okay. The place is warmly and beautifully decorated, but just a tad too small to feel very comfortable. It only has one table, the rest is stools. I saw some unflattering comments about the service and I can understand them, if it is the same servers. Service is quite abrupt and not very warm or welcoming. If you can tolerate that, they servers are actually helpful. I think it's a bit the Polish way, though I might be wrong. Prices are quite high, but the ingredients are fresh and quality. I would eat here again, though it's probably a place to eat and go and not linger, due to its small size and the not so...
Read moreGood vibes, good service, and good food. It’s small, casual, and cozy and I appreciated the Portuguese soundtrack. The masbaha was quite good — spicy and filling, but didn’t seem to have enough tahini to balance out the flavors, and the coffee quality, while also solid, doesn’t quite stand out with any nuance of flavor, so the price should either better reflect that, or the quality of beans should go up a notch. So I’d really say they’re a 4.5 but rounding up. That being said, if I lived here I would definitely go back to try more of their menu! The selections of hummus look amazing and would have loved to try if I wasn’t dining solo. Finally, I appreciate their receptivity in changing the order to takeout halfway through upon realizing I didn’t really have time (this wishful thinking sometimes happens in cities that I love and don’t want to leave deep down). They were efficient and left me with just enough time to get onto my...
