Warsztat Restaurant & Cafe No 1 — Restaurant in Krakow

Big portions of pasta, pizza, salad and traditional Polish cuisine. This is NOT an Italian restaurant, rather a Polish restaurant doing PolTalian food.

My pasta contained chicken, cream, garlic and Mediterranean vegetables (so would make a real Italian wince) but it was incredibly rich and tasty, and the portion is large enough that you can eat half and take the rest home.

The pizza dough is soft and pillowy. It often comes out a little oily as they use an oiled pan. I rather like it, as it gives the base a crispy bite - and they do not scrimp on toppings.

The salads are very generous and come with bread and a good amount of dressing. Be warned! It is not a diet salad! The avocado salad is lovely, as is the Mexican. I have tried both.

On a hot or sunny day it's difficult to get a seat outside because it is a favourite of locals and students. On a cold and rainy day you might need to wait for a seat inside. The place is well loved. The price is very reasonable, verging on a bargain, and the service is relaxed but prompt.

We were warmly greeted by very nice staff, who were also fluent in English. We ordered a lot of food and everything came at the same time, quickly, and was delicious.

Pierogis (from fresh, classic meat pierogis to unusual and vibrant fruit pierogis) were perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. They even propose non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails !

The setting is nice and away from noise and cars, and pricing was a nice surprise too : 7 dishes and several drinks for around 65 euros, that's unbeattable !

5 stars more for emotional reasons as it was one of the first places I visited in krakow 8 years ago. -taste&quantity: i had pasta with spinach and chicken. the taste of pasta was nothing special and at least in my opinion pasta is over boiled and the sauce is too much. The portion though is huge, maybe the biggest can find in krakow...if you are hungry it's an excellent choice. -price: 36pln for the pasta and 9 for soft drink -service: very polite and fast. Pasta was with spinach only, I asked to add chicken and they did it. That's way the total cost was 36pln -atmosphere: a very nice old style restaurant. Very warm...
