One of my favorite places in Krakow. Been there few times, and usually it's very crowded, and you can meet the queue straight from the door. But don't be fooled by the queue. Go past it, and check if there are any free places left.
You have to order from the counter. The waiting time in the queue is long, because there service counter is super small and there's only one employee taking the orders. Otherwise the service is friendly.
The cafe is in three floors, and especially the small gallery above the main space is a nice addition.
The place is known for it's hot chocolate. It's thick and sets quite fast if you don't stirr it everyone once in a while. It's basically like eating chocolate sauce. If you order plain hot chocolate, I recommend to get some water with it. Hot chocolate with whipped cream is my favorite. I have only eaten once, and the toast was very average. I have to try some other dishes too, and I might...
Read moreIt was the first café where my friend and I had lunch in Cracow. We really appreciated the fact that, unlike other restaurants, we were able to eat at 4 p.m. (we arrived quite late in the city!). The owner is a friendly man and luckily he speaks English. The place is big but cosy. I'd say it's style is quite traditional with a bohemian twist. There are also a few tables outside, a great option if you like to smoke while drinking beer! It's a really cheap place especially if you consider the fact that it's just right behind the main square where all the places are quite expensive. We really enjoyed the soups. They change everyday but both the times we had them, they were really good. The salads were also good. I'm a vegetarian and I was glad to see they had a lot of tasty vegetarian options! They also made the best espressos we had in Poland, definitely the closest to the Italian taste. In conclusion, I totally...
Read moreVery popular, but because of its popularity it was incredibly busy and long queues waiting to get counter service, (no waiter service) and the counter service was incredibly SLOW. The secret if there are 2 or more is to work out what you want and one of you gets in the queue to place your order while the rest of you hunt down a table and even watch for tables you think are about to finish andbkeave and get read to pounce because othetes may well be watching the same table. When the coffee was served it was mediocre at best coming from a standard Costa or dimilar coffee shop. I just couldn't see why it was so busy. I'll not return there. These are the reasons I have given the star ratings I did. At one time must have been a student coffee var as I found nothing to attract me. Only had coffee and didn't...
