Lastriko — Restaurant in Krakow

I honestly don’t understand how this place has a 4.3 on Google. I’d pay to NOT eat here again.

We waited over one hour for a simple scrambled egg. That’s not an exaggeration, I could’ve made it at home in under 7 minutes. The raspberry lemonade was actually good, but that’s where the positives (almost) end.

When we arrived, they gave us a table where the sun was blasting directly on us. I stood up and politely asked for a different table, and the waiter just said “pick one… but” and then nothing. But what? Either way, we moved, sat down, and then the waiting began. No warning, no “there are two big groups ahead, it’ll take 50 minutes.” If they had just said that, we’d have left immediately.

One of the waiters, a guy, was at least understanding about the whole situation and apologized. He seemed like a great guy, and his service was good. Too bad he had to work there.

When the food finally arrived, it was honestly just thrown together with zero care. Pancakes were dry and mid at best. The scrambled eggs were… scrambled eggs. And it was expensive — 159 PLN for THAT? You’ll find better food at Żabka. The only thing that stood out was the outdoor seating area, which they unfortunately ruined with terrible service and communication.

Nice atmosphere but tourist trap. Forced 10% service charge at bottom of menu. Prices are high for what it is. Check recent reviews not old ones. Coffee is all foam. Edit: Okay owner let's play your game. Foam was on he cappuccino which consisted of one sip, no one else drank anything as once we had seen the issue with the drinks we started going through reviews. Service charge has not been in any of the other restaurants in town, it is in small text on the bottom of your menu away from the food. High price is by comparing to the higher rated restaurants in town and looking at what was served to the poor people around us. We originally ordered but cancelled and left once seeing the scam. Lastriko is a unique place with three different time spaces in one spot: starting from the futuristic a la 70’s interior of the bistro, through the beautiful and charming garden, and finally the club in the XVI century caves. It makes a perfect combination, where everyone can find something for themselves. I very much enjoyed the food made from fresh ingredients with ‘Eggs Florentine’ listed as my favourite! My friends enjoyed a wide selection of very creative and delicious waffles. Italian coffee and a big variety of teas make the perfect ending of your culinary experience. Definitely, one of the best breakfast/brunch options in the city centre. The kind and helpful service, generous portions and the vibe make the place outstanding from all standard places around.
