Please note this review refers to the pod Wawelem in the rynek square, not the one under the wawel castle. One of the worst experience I used to have in Krakow ever in 15 years living here, if I could I would even give 0 stars. Gone are the days when pod Wawelem (kompania kuflowa)was cheap, service was good and portions and side dishes were huge. But let's leave the inflation aside and let me go to the point, as a lot happened last friday: We were 4 people for dinner at 8pm, no one took an order, not even for the drinks and after 25minutes I call for a waitress, she told me she was not a waitress (although working there) and to wait for the other waitress, after 40minutes waitress arrived, she told us draft blond beer was over, only draft red beer available. Drinks were served after 1hour we were sitting, and she told us red beer was not available, and we took 4 bottles instead. In our order we had 1 pork ribs, 1 sznicel (breaded fried cutlet), 1 kaszanka and 1 naleszniki. After over 1:40h kaszanka and naleszniki were served (they served food to another couple arrived after us, when we got the food they were done eating),telling me that my pork ribs was not anymore available!! (and without even apologising)!!, so I took a sznicel instead, and she promised I will not pay for the sznicel replacing the pork ribs. After another 10min waitress bring just 1sznicel,instead of 2 (forgetting the other initially ordered by my friend over 2h before). Waitress was telling in the initial order from 2 hours ago there was not the other sznicel ordered by my friend... Hungry, angry, service awful, no coordination between waiters and kitchen, missing food and missing drinks, the experience of a Friday evening dinner with friends got completely ruined. Side note: the door of the entrance was constantly open so cold was entering all the time. Cherry on the top, when finally we asked for the bill, the lady forgot that my sznicel had to be for free, claiming something that it was only for the pork ribs, which made no sense at all as she was telling me that 20minutes before. Long story short, entered at 8pm, we got the drinks at 9pm, 2 guests got food at 9:40pm and 2 others at 10:10pm. Alongside all the terrible experience, I think the worst is to take an order and then say that that beer or that food is over. Please note this was a Friday evening and on a restaurant on the center of the rynek of krakow, what a shame. I hope kompania kuflowa hires more chefs in the future and a manager managing the waitresses and coordination between kitchen and the dining hall. Will never go there again nor recommend it to anyone, until something...
Read moreExtremely rude and inattentive staff! It’s a shame because it’s in a lovely area and seems appealing. Myself and my partner were sat for 30 minutes without even being served for a drink. We sat close to entrance and staff were walking by non stop , looking right at our empty table and could see we were seeking someone to serve us. And they just walked passed and ignored us. It got to a point my partner asked a girl who had just served the table right beside us (who arrived after us) if we could order something. She said she would get someone and 10 minutes later there were still no one taking our orders. People who came in after us were getting served and the girl we had previously asked, was now serving others. We were getting looked at as if we were silly! We then asked the same girl again if we could finally get served and she told us “just wait” and put her finger up so rudely. Another women who may have been the manager asked what the problem was and we expressed we had been sat for over half an hour and also asked for service and not received it. She was not reassuring or apologetic and just told us “you just have to wait” to which we responded we have been waiting far too long and just decided to leave and go somewhere else. This was our first night of our trip and just left a note so nice taste in our mouths. We went somewhere else and got served straight away where the staff were super attentive as they should be to their paying customers. I feel it may have been because we were a young couple , we were treated and looked at differently. Tainted our night and it’s not acceptable to speak or treat your customers in that way. There were no other tables I could see that were empty so I didn’t understand the hold up. If looks could kill we would be gone it was just horrible!! Do not recommend to...

Hi, We visited the main restaurant and everything was great. We later went to the so called “sister restaurant” in the main square and found the place very cozy and also very empty with almost all table available.
We waited at the main door for 3 minutes, because the sign “wait here to be seated” No one attended us. Since the place was empty, we decided to proceed in our own. We found a small table and sat there. No one attended our table for 10 minutes( again, the place was empty)
Finally a male waiter with short black hair, caught eye contact with me and I requested for menu. To our surprise, the behaviour was not acceptable whatsoever .. It was aggressive and frustrated. The guy told us in a rude way “ didn’t you see the sign at the entrance?” You have to wait to be seated. After explain to him why we went in our own. He made up a story that this table we sat at was reserved and we have to move.
I stood up and went to the entrance as he “wished” and stood at the sign to be seated. Such circus.
We were given another table. We had our beers and left.
I just want you to know, buddy, that this isn’t how you should be doing your job. There are polite ways to approach a customer and explain. And also, if you want customers to be seated by the waiter then attend them at the entrance, just as the main restaurant does.
Date of visit : 27th February 2025, 18:15/18:30, krakow
Other than that , the place is nice and all other waiters/waitresses were...
