Despite the food being good, there is a lot of room for improvement at this restaurant. It just cannot compare to the other 5 star hotel restaurants I've been to in Krakow (the Hilton Saski for example has an amazing restaurant). First off there was one waiter, despite the restaurant being quite small, he could have used some help. Our table was so wobbly he couldn't be bothered to fix it (mind you there were only 3 tables occupied when we came). He was so inattentive, and scattered, he took my order wrong (I ordered beet salad and he gave me tomatoes) and didn't even bother to make it right (comp the item or a free dessert would have been nice). I said I would eat them since I didn't want to have food waste, but come on. I was done quite quickly and after at least 10 minutes of us just sitting there, he comes over and asks can they prepare the main dish. So all this time he could have asked how we were doing, but he didn't. I wasn't aware I was supposed to ask him to start cooking the next meal. We were so hungry I was ready to leave. The main dishes were pretty good, my pierogi were a bit dry (they could have used some type of sauce), but the schnitzel did have good flavor. We didn't bother getting dessert cause the service was just so slow. The potential is there they just need to care.EDIT: reply to management the waiter did not make it clear that 1) he was sorry for the mistake and 2) that he didn't add a...
Read moreWe had dinner here on our first night in Krakow as it was close to our hotel and we wanted to try Polish food. We booked online that day and received a prompt confirmation by email. Our server, Nickolas, was incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great menu recommendations—most of which we went with! We loved that the wine list featured all Polish wines, and the one we had was delicious. The duck pâté was a standout, rich and flavourful—definitely get extra bread if sharing. The trout starter was also lovely. For mains, we tried the cheese dumplings (as recommended)—interesting, but quite heavy. One each would’ve been plenty to taste. We also shared the schnitzel, which was crispy and really tasty. The cucumber salad was a bit watery but still fresh. We skipped dessert as we were full, but overall really enjoyed the meal. Nickolas even gave us some great local tips for our stay in Krakow—much appreciated. A warm welcome and a lovely first meal...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Stradomska 12 as we walked through the beauty that is Kraków. They had a sign for a tasting menu and knew nothing of Polish food so thought it'd be perfect. We walk in with no reservation and luckily, they were able to seat us, ready to serve us this tasting menu we were craving. The food: delectable. The service: exceptional. GABRIELA was so kind, profoundly informative, and super professional yet personable... we were not only lucky to be seated but we were lucky to have her taking care of us that evening. She even took the time to give us a personal tour of the connecting hotel and bar (in a beautifully refurbished historic building) after our meal. Absolutely the top food experience we...
