Stary Port Bar — Restaurant in Krakow

I came here as a solo female traveller after seeing it praised in a review of my hotel a few minutes walk away. I researched it and looked and sounded great. When I arrived it was fairly quiet except some men sat at the bar. The lady behind the bar was so rude and abrupt as I asked what they had as when all the stools were taken it was not possible to look at the taps. Because of her attitude I felt I could only stay for one as I didn’t want to be served by her again. Came here on our visit to krakow. Visited a couple of times and noticed live shantie music advertised. We paid and booked our ticket for my birthday. We arrived on the night to be told the bar was full and we couldn’t get in. After 10 minutes arguing with the door staff he got the barmaid we had originally booked our tickets with. We were told we could stand at the bar and not move anywhere else, even though we had paid for seated tickets at the front of the show. Here we are in the smoking room with no music and no seats. Very poor service all round. Will not be visiting or recommending this place to anyone. Total scam. No...

We stumbled across this place as we walked back to our aparthotel. You would almost miss it, it's on the corner and you go down steps to enter. It has a nautical theme and is decorated like that. It serves good rum, vodka and other spirits. The local beers are reasonably priced. The bar staff are really nice and friendly and were chatting and laughing with regulars and locals. This feels like a really local bar with not many tourists so I almost feel bad writing this review. It's a lovely bar, very central but away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
