I will NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant. They have POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I visited this restaurant t this restaurant today, 19 of October 2022. My first impression was already bad: The place is not very receptive and baby friendly since there is a staircase to enter the restaurant, and had to get by myself with a stroller carrying my son.
Then it all went down the hill, I entered the restaurant after the struggle and the rude waitress asked: what do you want? I replied: I want to eat since this is a restaurant. She didn't even start with a good night or asked about how many for the table. Then she said table for two? Well, we don't have it, even if I could see that there were empty chairs at the counter.
She said she only had room for one person. And you could see that she was unwilling to put a chair in a space next to mine. I was so annoyed that I put my son in the chair and stood up by his side. The person next to me was so uncomfortable with the situation and said we could add a chair next to her, which she didn't mind. I told her that the waitress was in a bad mood and that she probably wouldn't do it..
The waitress continued to be very rude, she arrived with a menu and said they were closing, so I had to decide right away. I stopped, and said: look, you're being very rude to me. She continued there saying that I was supposed to ask now at that moment, I said I needed at least a minute to choose. She said she couldn't order sushi or other things in the menu. I said ok, the only reason we came is that my son loves sashimi, I'll order sashimi. She said great is quick, I said sarcastically, so I'll order as much sashimi as I want. I ordered two.
The situation got so uncomfortable, I think the manager came to the table and asked what I want, and I said that I wanted the sashimi to go. After that, she arrived after 10 minutes at the table and sort of served in an impolite way. The sashimi were served on a plate, and only one order came. I breathed and said that was missing one, and I didn't even tell her that I asked for take out. She came quicker this time, and we ate everything in 5 minutes, so we could get out of there.
I honestly felt bad about the situation. Sad even, and I just wanted to eat, pay and leave! I had to go to the restroom, and it was filthy also. My son and I left the restaurant with the same difficulty that we entered, but before it closed as quickly as possible and there were still several tables there, people were still eating and being served. I will never go back to the restaurant. My last night in Poland and definitely my worst restaurant experience in many years. I'm very disappointed. The worst thing is going through this alone in front of my 3-year-old son,...
Read moreI came there with two other people, and it was my first time trying hot pot. I always liked the idea of it and it always looked tempting in movies and on pictures. The food was expensive. You can get away with paying 76PLN JUST FOR THE FOOD, and then the drinks were quite pricey on top of that, around 10PLN for water. And then on top of that, a surcharge is added. For us, it was 29.99PLN, which is about 10% of our bill. So you can't get away without paying 100PLN per person.
And it would be okay if the food was at least worth it, but it wasn't. The thin slices of meat that you get are mid at best, as well as chewy. The vegetable bowl you get contains giant leaves and all-in-all, not much variety. Flavour-wise, it's quite poor. The broths are fine, the non-spicy one being better than the spicy one, but despite my friend (who's been there before) mentioning the broth should be refilled by a waiter, it never happened, and we were left without a broth by the end (which was also fine, as I didn't much care for eating anymore). The 3 dips bowl that we got was also disappointing, as none of those contained any yummy dips.
To top it off, the waiter was neither especially nice nor approachable or even kind. He gave us a treatment any other worker does in cheap bakeries or such, maybe even more nonchalant. I don't know what the surcharge is for, if their workers don't look especially presentable, are not especially kind or nice, and in my case, at least, speak flawed Polish. And that's coming from a person who's not a native Pole (I'm from Croatia).
All-in-all, I am left astounded by the great reviews of this place, as it's not only overpriced, but also serves mediocre food. You're far better off going to a normal restaurant. I recommend Chleb i Wino, but that's in Toruń. Unfortunately I haven't spent much time in Kraków and cannot recommend any other places, but this should, in my...

You’d think that Asian restaurants in a Western country might not be authentic, but I’d disagree.
Starting with the interior, the decor is definitely inspired by Japanese restaurants. The comfort and tranquility is very apparent. The warm lighting and simple wooden furniture accentuates the authenticity aspect of eating in a Japanese restaurant.
When it comes to quality of the food, this restaurant is fantastic with just one small caveat.
I ordered a sashimi set that came with tuna and salmon. The hallmark of a great Japanese place to eat is determined usually by the freshness of their raw food. You can be assured, the sashimi is very fresh to eat. Nothing about the sashimi is devoid of freshness; it doesn’t have the texture of being left in the freezer for too long, which would also be evident by the lack of flavour in the sashimi.
My friend ordered the ramen and while the broth and ingredients were perfect, the one caveat I was mentioning before was that the noodles isn’t supposed to be called “ramen” noodles, rather they tasted more reminiscently of egg noodles. Granted, ramen noodles are made with egg, but the imbalance of flavours might have put him off. Otherwise, given the really affordable price of a bowl of ramen, this is still a great choice for many to savour.
I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner if you’re into rather authentic Japanese food. The restaurant can accommodate numbers as small as 1 to as big as 10 if necessary as it is rather spacious and the tables can be easily rearranged to suit...
