Incredibly slow service which forgot about our order...and brought different meal than ordered. I feel like we've spent eternity waiting there. Nearly 10 minutes waiting for menu (we should have simply left). Another 10 waiting for waiter to take the order. After ordering something to drink and eat, nothing happened for more than 20 minutes. When I asked the waiter where is the issue, why haven't we got anything to drink, he said he doesn't know and that it has been 'a big order' (drinks and meals for 4 people) and that he'll ask. Then they started to prepare the coffe. Another ~10 minutes passed and the crepes arrived. The menu said 'warm crepes'...well, they were warm maybe 20 minutes before we got them. Oh and they also brought one different meal then we ordered but we haven't had an energy to deal with it. After the meal coffe arrived and few minutes later the tea. Strange order. Since we had enough time to observe, it was obvious they simply forgot about us, because people who came after us got their drinks and food before us. The place wasn't even half full and we spoke to 4 different waiters and seen at least 3 other ones. The waiter (the main one who 'took care' about ourt table) even came to ask if we're satisfied and of course he expected us to leave a tip. I mean, are you serious? Waiting 50 minutes for a hot meal when the place is crowded is fine. But 50 minutes for a coffe and tea and cold meal that should have been warm? No thank you,...
Read moreNow I'm really not a huge chocolate fan, well not a chocolate fan at all really, but through the power of Christmas persuasion I was persuaded to visit Pijalnia Czekolady E.Wedel in the main square in Krakow Old Town during our short Christmas break to the city in December 2025.
That said I am rather partial to a nice mug of hot chocolate, the thicker and chocolatier the better, esoecially if it'swhite milk chocolate. And guess what the chocolate drinks at E.Wedel were just that.
My wife had the quartet of hot chocolate drinks whilst my daughter had a single mug of hot chocolate accompanied by crepés.
We were sat in the conservatory adjoining the main square, it was lovely. The atmosphere was great, the service was good and the conservatory was nice & toasty and warm. We spent a relaxing hour or so in the evening listening to the trumpet player, watching the horse & carts go by indulging in more than is necessary tasty hot chocolate. Very, very nice.

Read moreWorse service I have experienced in a long while. Arrived from the street, looking like the turist I am (backpack, big jacket, camera around my neck and sneakers), and got told I could sit anywhere. We sat, and the menus were brought over (whithin 2min). For the next 30min we waited to order and the 2 waiters, for a room with maybe 12 tables: waited on the table behind us 3 times (a group of 6 girls with many shopping bags); cleared the table next to us; welcomed, took the order and served the table of 6 people that arrived 15min after us (they were dressed in Gant shirts and smart shoes, I noticed that too). But never managed to drop by our table and take our order. When we got up and left (not 2min after the table to our left in the exact same position as ours), the servers proceeded to look at us as if they didn't understand how we could be discontent with the service. Would not recommend (I can't guarantee obviously the reason for the delay, but it rubs me the wrong way the two tables that got up looked like simple practical turist customers and the tables that were better attended looked like people with more...
