We visited with a clear plan, my partner ordered a New York Strip Wagyu, I ordered a Rib Eye Prime USA (in order to compare the quality difference between both cuts, the waiter briefly showed the frozen cuts, we approved the size, without information about the real weight of them, we were never told that my Prime order would be swapped, what arrived on my plate was a Rib Eye Wagyu A5, the bill priced both steaks as Wagyu, the food tasted good, the billing did not,

The menu lists Rib Eye Prime USA (what I ordered) at 89 zł per 100 g, range 300 g to 500 g, the Rib Eye Steak Wagyu A5 (what I got) at 189 zł per 100 g, range 350 g to 600 g, I was served 730 g of Wagyu A5

First, comparing what I ordered with what I was served at the same weight, 730 g of Wagyu versus 730 g of Prime, the difference is about 730 zł, one hundred zł per 100 g

Second, that weight exceeds the restaurant’s own posted maximum for Wagyu by 130 g!

Third, if you compare against the posted maximum size of my original Prime order, (500 g,) the gap is even larger, roughly 935 zł, more than I was maximum I was expecting to pay. Either way, the customer was made to pay a massive and unjustified uplift,

After several telephone calls and 2 weeks the management replied by email, they acknowledged the mistake and offered a voucher for 300 zł, this does not even begin to address the financial hit, the harm remains several hundred zł out of pocket, I consider this response inadequate, unprofessional, and disrespectful, the staff error, the customer pays, the restaurant keeps the margin, that is not hospitality, that is a transfer of liability to the guest,

I will not return, I urge future diners (if you still want to risk gound there) to insist on explicit confirmation of the cut and price before any steak goes to the grill (ideally record yourself doing the order), photograph the menu, ask the server to repeat the cut, grade, weight, and price, write it down if necessary, good flavor never justifies silent upcharging, transparency and accountability are non negotiable.

Simply a rip off, as had happened to other customers if you read the reviews of this restaurant in tripadvisor. I should have read them before. I hope you don´t have to experience this...

Two of us ate there, both had a soup, which was very nice. My sister ordered a Waldorf salad and I ordered a Steak. On the menu, the price for my 100g steak was between 29zl and 43zl. The steak was very nice as well. Why I gave only one star, was upon receiving the bill, the charge for my steak was 169zl. I showed this to the young lady, who said she dosnt understand me (I spoke no Polish). Then a very large gentleman who worked there, came up and asked what the problem was. I pointed out what I ordered and what I was charged. He told me the steak size can vary up to 400g (which mine was clearly not even close to) and I was charged accordingly. I pointed to the menu and again said “I ordered. 100g steak”, which mine clearly was, and it states 29zl to43zl. He kept arguing and standing in my space. So, I eventually paid and left. It was straight out stealing from a Tourist was the impression I got. One more thing that I found strange, the Restaurants name is in English, and is completely decorated in “Americano” stuff. US flags, Harley Davidson Emblems etc, but no menus in English. I have been to other restaurants in Torun, with one specialising in Polish food, and they had menus both in Polish and English. Most ironic that a “American” themed restaurant didn’t have menus in both languages or was this to help in their fleecing money off...
