I highly recommend Spring Roll if you are looking for real, authentic Vietnamese food in Warsaw-- everything is made fresh and the ambience is a cut above any other restaurant of the same cuisine in the area. The 'raw' Spring Rolls are the specialty -- my favourite are the shrimp and meat ones, which are served with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. The roll is packed full of vegetables and wrapped in light rice paper. It feels healthy as you eat but is very, very satisfying. I also like the Bun Bo Nam Bo, which truly reminds me of my Grandma's cooking. It's a rice noodle dish with grilled meat and crunchy peanuts, which add a great textural component. The sauce that's in the dish is slightly sweet and completely perfect. My parents usually get the Cha Ca La Vong, which they rave about -- the fish is fresh and totally fragrant with the traditional herb-y marinade. I think it reminds them of home. For dessert, I indulge with the fried ice-cream, which has coconut flakes in it, elevating the crunchy outer shell. It's served with a little mint sprig stuck on top, which makes it look a little like a kooky fruit-- very cute! The tea selection is amazing as well. I've not seen this brand (Yen Mayen) anywhere else in Poland, and all the options come in loose leaf so you really taste the flavours. 5/5 for food, and the service is always friendly and eager to help and recommend dishes. I've come back before and will definitely keep...
Read moreI used to visit Spring Roll about once a week, the food is always really quite good, however after my visit on 26th June I will not visit the restaurant again. The customer service is shockingly bad! The restaurant had introduced a loyalty scheme to collect a stamp every time you visit the restaurant and spend over a certain amount. After 12 stamps had been collected you receive 25zl off your next visit. I recently received my 12th stamp and was told I could claim my 25zl off the bill next time I visit.
Upon my latest visit, I showed the staff my completed loyalty card only to be told “we have withdrawn the offer”. I explained how this seemed rather unfair, but the staff would have none of it.
Surely the idea of introducing a loyalty scheme is to identify and reward your best, most regular customers? Apparently not at Spring Roll, they use it to identify their best customers and then screw them over.
My advice is if you want a successful long term business, don’t treat your...
Read moreThe decor here in the summer is very pleasant- it's very open and welcoming. As appetizers, I shared a plate of spring rolls, which had great fresh vegetables in them and were elevated by the peanut dipping sauce. As my main dish, I had the delicious Pad Thai. The noodles were delicate, the shrimp and tofu well-seasoned and the whole dish was fragrant with different herbs. I especially enjoyed the hints of lemongrass. My friend had the shrimp in garlic butter, which was served on a heated platter so her food stayed bubbling and warm the whole time. It smelled and tasted amazing. The service is very friendly and helpful; a nice Vietnamese boy took our order and did his best to make our meal...
