Prosty Temat Warszawa — Restaurant in Warsaw

I went there this morning for breakfast and ordered the ‘English-style breakfast’ with an americano. After a 40 minute wait, and having watched numerous tables who arrived after me receive their food, the breakfast arrived (and to be fair, looked fairly tasty), although still no sign of the coffee. I proceeded to locate my own cutlery, as none was provided.. as I went to tuck in, I established that the food was absolutely freezing cold. And I mean, completely devoid of any resemblance of warmth. It had clearly been ready to be delivered to my table circa 30 mins previously but just forgotten. I brought this to the attention of the waitress, and very politely, who said ‘sorry’ and walked away. Five minutes later she returned to tell me that ‘I was welcome to leave without paying, but another breakfast would take another 40 minutes of waiting’. I pointed out that I’d already been there for approximately 45 minutes at that point, to which she shrugged and said ‘I’m not going to help you’. The restaurant is located on Plac Pięciu Rogów, which has been recently renovated and is now a pedestrian area. The restaurant is quite roomy, its interior design is recent and nice, the menu is rather original and well priced, food is good -not the best, but far above Warsaw average-, plate presentation is original, and the set menu served on weekdays is delicious and very competitive. But the service is, as too often in Poland, the weak point, of the restaurant and, as I can read in several previous comments, I am not the first one to have such an experience. After a good lunch, our waiter forgot to bring our deserts, forgot a second time to bring them when we ordered expresso coffees, and finally we had to leave and ask for the bill and there was not a single apology or compensation (desert was part of the menu we paid for) for...

Terrible terrible service. Waited 15min for menus. Waited another 30min to order. Asked 2 different servers to order before then but they just looked at us confused and said they can’t take orders. Had to demand we put our order in just to get someone to serve us. Both times we had to get up and find someone to ask to order. Waited 15 min for our beer and wine to arrive. Wrong wine brought. Terrible service from the start. Food was not good. Dry pulled pork. Dry bread. Boiled undercooked shrimp in the grilled shrimp salad. Gross. Bearable but the whole place is a mess. Not the only ones waiting and looking annoyed. Get a host. Double the waiters. And take orders if you give a menu to a table within 10...
