I used to work nearby and always enjoyed stopping by this bakery for their great pastries. A couple of weeks ago, I returned with a friend and was surprised to see they now serve breakfast (something I hadn’t known before). Curious and pleasantly surprised, I asked the girl at the cashier, “Oh, so you serve breakfast now?” Her response was a blunt, “Yeah, so?”
I was taken aback, as I meant it genuinely and wasn’t expecting a rude reply. I explained I hadn’t realized, and she sharply said, “So which do you want?” I hadn’t even had a moment to look at the menu yet. From the start, I felt like my presence was a bother.
I then asked if it was possible to make a latte with lactose-free milk, to which she answered sharply again, “No.” That’s fine - I completely understand that not every place carries alternative milk options, but the tone felt unnecessarily harsh.
When my friend placed her order, she casually asked how the owners were (as she knows them personally), and the girl again replied rudely, “I don’t know.” Even after knowing we knew the owners, her attitude didn’t improve. We remained polite and friendly, but unfortunately, it felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience.
It’s a real shame because the pastries are genuinely excellent, but I won’t be coming back because of how unwelcome we felt.
Having worked in hospitality myself for many years, I know how important it is to treat customers with kindness and respect, even on a tough day. If you don’t enjoy the work, it’s understandable, but taking it out on guests isn’t the answer.
I really hope this feedback helps, as I’d love to see this place succeed with service that matches the quality...
Read morethe food and the coffee i had were very nice.
and the place is warm and cozy to take a seat. at the time of having breakfast, there were not many customers here so it was great to stay for around 1 hour on weekend morning.
but the english menu is a bit wrong. the food i had was scrambled egg but it cost 20 zloty not 19 zloty. 😒
and the cashier at first offered me only a half of coffee unlike other cafes, which was uncomfortable, but upon request, she filled 1/3 more.
please look at the coffee i had in other cafe, costa and compare thr coffee in bakery street piekarnia cafe.
just like costa cafe, the coffee should be filled to the top of the cup but the server only gave me half of the cup with the full price?
so i think it is better not to order coffee in this bakery shop if you do not want to have only half cup of coffee you order with the full price.
besides, as you see a cup of coffee in my picture, there was a dirt on the handle of the cup, and i still think the server was quite careless of cleaness.
also, i think english menu must be updated for those who wants to and will visit here soon.
but i got a small gift of 3 pistacchio cookies to make my original frank review changed more positively. i am writing very honestly about this cafe and the staff without any exaggeration.
(dear the cashier, wake up, please. it was true that you were unkind to me- and it was kind of racism)
i think it was grateful but at the same time a bit embarrassed because she should have been nicer from the moment i saw her.
(i thought she discriminated customers because i am not a polish native.)
anyway, i had a quite pleasant...

The food here is incredible, everything is fresh and, most importantly, very tasty. I don't know how many kilos I will gain every time I come here, but it is absolutely worth it.
The service is perfect, fast, clear and with a smile. The girls here are just the sweetest! 🥰
