A 100% vegan restaurant and cafe right in the centre of Wroclaw.
When I arrived for breakfast at approximately 10:40 this morning, I was the only customer, but seven more people arrived shortly afterwards. I mention this, because I wasn't happy with the service considering how quiet this restaurant was.
I was handed a menu at the counter and I immediately ordered an espresso, which was made and brought to my table within a few minutes. I then went back to the counter to order my granola breakfast and to ask what flavour smoothies they make, as it said to ask on the menu. The waitress looked at the fridge, and then said "we don't have smoothies today." She seemed really bored, fed up, didn't smile to any of the customers and gave me the impression that she didn't want to work today. There was a chair by the toilets, where she often went to sit on to look at her phone. And when she wasn't there, she sat on a stool behind the counter, also looking at her phone.
My table was also really sticky. My paper napkin got stuck to it and ripped when I went to lift it up to use. And even my book got slightly stuck to it.
On the positive, my espresso and granola with warm milk were both really good. On the menu it stated that the granola came with dried fruits, but mine came with fresh fruits, which was great.
I had intended to stay longer, read my book and have another coffee, but I decided to spend my time relaxing elsewhere.
The espresso was 10 PLN and my granola...
Read moreThis restaurant delivers outstanding food quality while falling short in service refinement, earning a solid 4-star rating.
The culinary offerings truly excel, with dishes that demonstrate exceptional preparation and flavor. The kitchen team clearly possesses significant skill, creating truly remarkable food that deserves high praise.
However, the service approach lacks the polish expected at a restaurant offering such quality cuisine. Small but noticeable details detract from the overall experience - like water being placed on the table without care or attention to presentation. These moments reveal a disconnect between the refined kitchen and the more casual service approach.
A physical annoyance further impacts the dining atmosphere: the lower door repeatedly slams shut, creating disruptive noise throughout the meal. This recurring sound intrusion affects the otherwise pleasant environment.
For food enthusiasts who prioritize culinary quality over service refinement, this restaurant remains an excellent choice. The kitchen's exceptional abilities outweigh the service limitations, though the combination of inattentive service details and the intrusive door slamming prevents a perfect rating.
With modest improvements to service approach and a simple door adjustment, this establishment could easily achieve excellence across all aspects of the dining...
Read moreI am changing my review from last week. Downstairs has great dishes and service is on point. Upstairs is a completely different story... Last Sunday, I visited with my sister and her husband. We each ordered, pad thai- 2 of us had it with mushrooms and the third was supposed to be with peanut sauce. The two pad Thai dishes with mushrooms were absolutely horrid, doused with soy sauce and salty to no end. My brother in law's dish came with mango sauce instead of peanut sauce. Aperol Spritz and Hugo drinks were awful! And honestly: how the heck do you mess up an Aperol Spritz- when the recipe is on the very back of the liquor bottle? I will say 1 more thing, there was an obnoxious group of people upstairs who practically usurped the whole place, loud, and impossible to sit next to. Our waitress gave priority to this " animal activist" group and absolutely ignored us. As someone who travels extensively, a note to management: pay attention to how your wait staff treats the customers- for the eye-roll the waitress gave me, she would be fired in the U.S. in a split second. What a truely shameful experience for...
