I don’t usually leave reviews, but since this place doesn’t have many, here it goes.
First of all — a small suggestion to the restaurant: please stop serving lemon slices with the food and go for lemon wedges instead. I couldn’t get a single drop of juice from the slice, and I just ended up with sticky, citrusy hands. It’s a tiny thing, but makes a difference.
Atmosphere – 4/5 The rooftop seating and the view were honestly amazing. It’s in a prime spot, and compared to many average South Asian restaurants I’ve been to, this one really stood out. That said, I’ve seen better setups, so I can’t give it a full 5 — but still, it’s a great vibe.
Food – 4/5 As someone who eats Indian food often, I’ve come to accept that the flavor is usually adjusted for European tastes. So yeah, it wasn’t exactly what I’m used to, but still really enjoyable. Indian food rarely disappoints, and this was no exception. I’ve had better, but this was still pretty solid.
Price – Fair Pretty much the same or better than other places around here. No complaints.
Overall – 5/5 At the end of the day, I was in Albufeira to enjoy my vacation, and this place definitely added to the experience. Great day, good food, nice view. Would recommend.
One thing to keep in mind: I tried to leave an 18% tip, but they don’t accept tips by card. I usually carry cash, but unfortunately only had €50 notes and didn’t have time to sort it out since I had a bus to catch in 16 minutes. I left whatever coins I had, but felt bad. So yeah — bring some smaller cash if you’re planning to tip. It’s always kind to leave something, especially in Portugal where minimum wage in hospitality is still around...
Read moreINDIANS BEWARE!! This place takes pride in only serving British/ white people. At first we are invited by a guy at the gate to dine in, after we decided to try it out the guy starts talking on the walkie talkie which made it seems like it was extremely busy after climbing to the rooftop we saw only a couple of tables occupied in the whole restaurant, we finally sat down to a table of 5 including a (Toddler). During our meal my husband had to go to pharmacy to get medicine for our toddler who had developed a fever, on the way back to restaurant, the person at the gate was extremely rude and wouldn’t let my husband back up saying that “we are not here to let you in and out it’s almost closing time just pay and get out” (this was when our main course was just arrived) nonetheless we left the food barely eaten as we couldn’t believe this behaviour from the restaurant staff. In short, There are plenty of other restaurants that welcome families that deserves the business than these rude and arrogant indian/immigrant staff who has zero respect for families paying €€€ for a meal to deserve...
Read morePoppadoms weren’t quite as crisp as I’d like - possibly had been made at the start of the evening and sat around. Mango chutney was nice, as was the mint Raita, but that was a bit too liquidy. Onions were okay and the other dip wasn’t great, not sure what it was though. Our Tandoori Mixed Starter was tasty - and smoky. Wish they’d put more spices into the marinades and less red food colour! The Lamb Rogan Josh starter was really tasty, bit too oily though - I know you want some oil separation in curries but it was covering the top of the whole dish! The Chicken Bhuna was less oily but not as flavoursome, get another curry instead of that one! Pilau rice was good, as was the garlic naan. Prices not too high - we paid 70 euros for 2 with a couple of drinks each. I’d consider going back but still lots on Indians in Albufeira area I...
