Café do Mar — Restaurant in Almada

I have been several times at this place and it was always good, nice stuff, decent food. However, today, the waitress cheated. She charged for our scrambled eggs with veggies the price for a omelet with shrimps and explained at length, that this would be the same price, and that she is not charging the toast (which normally comes at free). A discussion was useless, because she refused to redo the bill and kept on going that she is not charging for the toast. We ended up paying 21 Euros for two scrambled eggs and two coffee. Very disappointed! Nadja

P. S. for the Café's response: I live here, know the prices and can tell when someone is cheating. This is why l posted this review to warn especially tourists. When I was there alone, or with Portuguese friends, everything was okay. But this time, I was there with a friend visiting and the owner made a big point talking English to us.

Some corrections (the one who answered was not there and this can't know what we ordered):

Unacceptable experience. While ordering drinks with a friend, the waiter took her order without issue but proceeded to patronize me about my choice of a cocktail. He was mansplaining that "you don't want that drink, a girl who looks like you should take another", when I said very firmly that - I want what I want, he was still commenting that he knows better, but then noticing my tone he tried to touch my hand saying he was joking. More to this, he looked tipsy. Such an attitude is inappropriate and completely insane. Hire better staff

Update: the owner's answer is just confirms how HORRIBLE THE SERVICE IS. If you don't understand English, keep your language expertise behind.

Plus and THE MOST important - tell yourself what to drink and what to eat. If it is normal for you - lock yourself and never interact with modern society.

Wish I could give 6 stars. Any person' s experience is influence of her/his expectations. After several hours biking I needed a not so crowded place were Mr and my friends could park the car close to us and have our lunch. What we reviewed was very very nice and helpful employees, a good table with a sea view which our bike was exactly near us, wonderful soup, very good sandwiches , fresh orange juice, not too crowded place , good value for money, snd very clean place. I mentioned cleaness bcz few days ago I visited again one other restaurant and bars in the same area name Dr Bernard which has a good food and good music, but what surprised me was the dirtyness of tables and environment (walls were full of spider nets) and the service was so bad).

So am I happy with cafe do mar? Yesss, do I go back...
