Confeitaria Ramos is one of Aveiro’s most iconic and beloved pastry shops, steeped in history and tradition. Established generations ago, this family-run establishment has managed to preserve its original charm and authenticity over the years. Located in the heart of Aveiro, it is well-known for offering some of the finest traditional Portuguese pastries, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the city. What sets Confeitaria Ramos apart is its dedication to preserving recipes that have been passed down through the family. Their range of pastries includes Aveiro’s local specialties, with the famous "ovos moles" being a highlight. These delicate sweets, made from egg yolks and sugar, are wrapped in thin wafers and are a staple of the region. The quality of ingredients and the care put into every pastry is evident, resulting in a delightful and authentic culinary experience. The shop itself exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff who are always eager to share the history behind their creations. Whether you’re enjoying a quick coffee with a pastel de nata or savoring their regional specialties, Confeitaria Ramos offers a taste of Aveiro's rich confectionery heritage that has stood the test of time.

Liked the inside of the place, very old and has a traditional vibe. Also, the variety of options is quite wide for sweets as well as for baked goods. However, when we chose the seat it seemed like nobody cared about our presence. We spent more than 10min just to ask for a coffee. There was only one waitress serving almost everyone inside(although there were other waitresses who were chill and not busy at all) and was very busy although the place was only half full. Of course, the way we were served couldn't be friendly in this kind of situation. This cafe definitely needs some improvements in their service. Then, the cake we ordered was disappointing: just super sweet, nothing else. Dry and wet at the same time, no cacao flavor in the dough. As for the price (around 3€), it's quality was bad. As for the paying, it was another struggle, coming from someone who was here for the first time ever, it was confusing to find a line to pay. And on top of that our order wasn't registered correctly. Maybe it was just a bad luck for us.

A MUST try place in Aveiro! I happen to walk in randomly and was blown away by the Cartucho (asked for the most popular pastry) it wasn’t too sweet but it was so rich in flavor. Literally one of the BEST desserts I’ve tasted in a while. The croissants can be filled with a filling of your choice but I had mine with cheese and it was delish! Their almond cookie is also a great choice! Chewy and crunchy😃 and their espresso is legit! Also, extra side note but their chairs are very cute and extra comfy!
