We stayed at this Guesthouse last night. Whilst the lady on reception was lovely and really helpful, the first room they gave us was disgusting!!! I can't tell you what the number of the room was but it was the last one at the back on the first floor on the right hand side. I think I was in a state of shock when she first showed me as she said it is a little small but at least you have a balcony!!! It was that narrow and with a very small double bed between the wall and the double opening doors to the balcony, one could hardly get past the bed to step outside. But then there was the bathroom setup - it was horrible. I requested another room as I found it far too small and not acceptable and at first she said she didn't have another one available, but I think she must have seen the horror on my face because within a couple of minutes she had another room to show me. Thank goodness, because this room was right in the front of the hotel with lots of opening windows for fresh air, and it was huge - it had a queen size double and 3 double bunks, but it was such an improvement.||However, I have to mark this place down based on the shower. We had to wait so long for the hot water to come through and then when it did there was no pressure in the water at all. All it had was a shower curtain, and there were no toiletries supplied, e.g. Shampoo or shower gel. The towels were disgusting, so thin and hard.||On a positive note, the breakfast supplied was lovely with nice cereal & yoghurt and beautiful rolls with plenty of ham and cheese as well as jams.||Location was excellent and wifi...
Read moreWe had a voucher for a stay at this place (which price was similar to the price for a night in their best room), so we did not know in which room they would put us. We were given a room that had a window to the stair case and we could hear the guests climbing up the noisy stairs; the shower was not very good looking, with some stains in the corner; the toilet room had a hole in the wall that was caused by someone simply opening the door too hard; and almost no wall sockets were functional. Breakfast was included, and at check-in they explained we would be given bread and a tray would be left in the fridge with other goods. We did not find any bread, the cheese and ham were spoiled and we could not figure out the coffee machine. And there was no staff to explain it. We tried ringing the bell at the reception several times. Nobody answered. We eventually went out and we will never go back...
