I think we've been ripped off here. We wanted a meal deal and asked for a fish , the owner said they have only lamb with the deal and we can have fish as a separate meal so we ordered 2 doradas and house wine, the fish was nice but its been butterflied and there was almost not meat on the one side of the bone, ( I like fishing and cook fish and I know how the fish looks like) I mentioned this to the owner and he looked embarrassed ( greedy guy) The price was 20 euros, for fish( well, half a fish), 3 small potatoes and salad, its expensive, you can have a much better meal in Faro for this price, I know locals eats there but it looks like a tourist trap. Insgesamt ist das Restaurant Flor do Roxo ein verstecktes Juwel für diejenigen, die abseits der Touristenhotspots die authentische und einfache Küche erleben möchten. Das Restaurant bietet eine herzliche Atmosphäre, leckere Speisen und wird fast nur von Einheimischen frequentiert. Die Speisekarte ist klein und schlicht: entweder frischer Tagesfisch oder Fleisch, beides perfekt gegrillt. Dazu gibt's Ofenkartoffeln (wahlweise Pommes) und ein erfrischender Tomatensalat. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die hausgemachten Desserts, die zweifellos die Krönung jedes Mahls im Flor do Roxo sind! Mein Favorit ist der Pudding! Es ist ratsam, zumindest Grundkenntnisse in Portugiesisch zu haben, denn hier wird keine Fremdsprache gesprochen. Doch gerade diese sprachliche Barriere trägt zur Authentizität des Erlebnisses bei und ermöglicht es den Gästen, in die lokale Kultur einzutauchen.
