A decent Sushi Restaurant in Faro, it is a convenient spot if you’re craving Japanese food in the city center, but the experience can vary depending on what and when you order.

The restaurant offers both à la carte options and a buffet during certain hours, and it’s important to know that if you choose to order from the menu during buffet time, your food may take longer to arrive since the kitchen prioritizes the buffet service.

The buffet itself is just all righ, it’s decent for a quick fix, but don’t expect a wide variety of options. The selection is limited, and unfortunately, the setup isn’t well protected. During the summer months, the buffet trays are not temperature controlled and are exposed to flies, which raises some concerns about freshness and hygiene.

On the plus side, the staff are polite, and the dining area is clean and comfortable enough. If you’re visiting outside buffet hours and order from the menu, the sushi tends to be fresher and better presented.

All in all, Kaira Sushi can be a convenient option if you know what to expect. If you’re after quality sushi, it’s better to go outside of buffet times and stick to the à la carte menu for a better experience if you don’t...

Me and my fiancé had an amazing experience at Kaira Sushi. At first I was a bit unsure when just looking at the menu and thought about going somewhere else, but the waiter was really nice he asked me what I usually like to eat when it comes to sushi, gave some suggestions and said that they could make changes to suit our preference or dietary needs. We didn't have to wait long for the food, which not only was plated beautifully but also had an exquisite taste. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and all of the dishes were great on their own but also blended perfectly with the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce or sweet chilli sauce. We had a matcha dessert at the end, served with ice-cream, I was surprised but at the same time highly pleased, when I first tasted it, because I was expecting that hint of bitterness that always follows matcha flavour, but the chef was able to omit that bitterness in the dessert, and I loved it, even my fiancé who's not very keen on desserts, could help having a few bites. We truly had a lovely experience, once again I'd like to thank the chef and the staff whom were lovely and extremely welcoming...

Excellent restaurant!

We visited Lisbon, Lagos, Albufeira and Faro. In most places, the service was not very nice, but we had the best experience at this restaurant.

Our waiter was Himansu, who helped us choose the dishes and recommended extremely good ones. For example, the nigiri (2 pieces) was two type of options: salmon or tuna taste version, but he allowed us to order it in a mix, so one was salmon and other was tuna. He recommended us an appetizer, which was fried pork in a batter with coriander sauce, it tasted incredibly good and I would like to point out that when he brought it out, he told us to taste it and if it doesn't taste good, then he will change for us. This is a great service, absolutely 5 stars. The chef also deserves special recognition, as the toro out is one of the best sushi I've had so far. We ordered it twice.

Thank you everything! It was a great...

I had a mixed experience at Kaira. Firstly, it didn’t feel authentic – I ordered tempura as a starter, but what arrived was a frozen breaded prawn stick. It might pass as an ebi katsu, but I wouldn’t even call it that. My partner and I shared the sushi & sashimi deluxe set. It was okay, but the sashimi was sliced extremely thin, and the sushi had unusual flavours – some spicy, some just odd – tasting like anything but sushi. We had booked through The Fork with a 30% discount, which the waiter confirmed multiple times. However, when the bill came, the discount wasn’t applied, and we weren’t given a reason. I was surprised, as I had high expectations based on previous reviews, but overall, the experience didn’t live up to them.
