PLS AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!! VIOLENT STAFF!! I would give 0 stars if there was an option. We were sitting outside. We were really impressed initially with the menu and stuff. Placed an order and got starters in 15 mins which was fine because the restaurant was very busy. They picked our starters plates later and said rest of the food is coming ‘shortly’. We kept asking the old man working outside how long and he kept saying it’s ready. We waited 1 hour after they served starters until we got fed up and went inside to kindly ask them to cancel rest of the order because we were not hungry anymore. They started screaming and at that point I turned back and came outside to sit at the table. Guy called NEGI came just behind me and started swearing at me and accused me of swearing at the old man. Honestly I was shocked and told them to charge us for the drinks and starters so we could get out of there without any problems. My friend just got up for no reason and NEGI pushed him and started swearing at him as well. We put 10eur on the table and asked if it was enough. BUT THEY WONT LET US GO. He said we needed to eat the food we ordered and pay for it. Another 10-15 mins a waiter got out food outside where we were sitting(while NEGI was screaming) and dropped it right in front of us😝. NEGI got so mad and we had paid him for the order so we started walking away. He pulled me and tried to punch me but my friend came in between us. We kept walking but faster and he chased us until he saw police doing patrolling. In the end he threatened us to not go to the restaurant again as if we would even go anywhere near after...
Read moreGood Indian food is the jewel of my culinary appetite and I found a Diamond in Namastey Faro, near the old city centre.. The reviews were so good that we decided to give it a try.. What a delight. A very clean simple comfortable premises with small footpath seating outdoors and an airy indoor section with a small bar. The upstairs toilets were very large and clean. We were made feel very welcome by All the STAFF...original native Indians and I had a lovely conversation with one waiter who came from a place where I stayed ( as a student) in 1981! The food arrived promptly, freshly cooked and DELICIOUS. My father had the Pork in mushrooms which was beautifully spiced but not too hot. My sister had the chicken Tikka karai which was beautifully spiced and I had the prawn jelfrezi with egg fried rice and Bombay Allu.....All dishes were so authentic and individual... each dish had its own different combination of fresh spices that made them stand out and yet compliment each other as we dipped into each other's bowls !! We were overwhelmed.... Then the price .....very very reasonable. Another lovely surprise! 🙏 Namastey , peace, good feeling ..it had it all. This little restaurant has surpassed my once favourite Indian restaurant in the Intercontinental hotel Amman, Jordan... Well Done Namastey. We leave Faro Tuesday but we will be...
Read moreIt is hard to satisify an Indian origin person from Vancouver with Inndian food.
After several days in Portugal, we crave Indian food. So we stumled into Namaste. We were greated by Ravi. Not that we needed any suggestions, but he guide us with what is their best food. We ordered, lamb Roganjosh and Chiicken Dumalloo. Food was decisions. Ravi conversed with the patrins as if it was his own restaurant until we were told by owner's father. He came to our table and start taking about hus staff and they are lazzy, don't want to do any work, he kept going on and on,on on, ....... As a senior person and cultural norm, I did not say anything to him. We finally asked for our bill without getting deserts and did not leave any tip either. I went back to confirm Ravi's name. I am feeling bad for the staff, Sorry Ravi, I didn't leave a tip. You and staff deserved a tip. But I couldn't due to owner's father behaviour. We finally asked for our bill and quickly excited. He followed us out. TO THE OWER. You have good food, good location and really good staff. If you aren't going to takecare of them, they will leave. Yoy alone can not take care of 3 restaurants. Ask your father to stay out of your business. He may know how to run a business in India, but not in Portugal. Ravi, Thank you for taking care of us and remaining...
