Chalet restaurante — Restaurant in Faro

Definitely not a fine dining choice when it comes to the Sushi. It's more of a general buffet place. Can't complain much for the price (15.90€ per Person without drinks) though. Has to be noted it was cash only when we went there today.

The food is inbetween 3-4 stars. Definitely really good choices - we liked the fried shrimp, the squid/octopus as well as prawns to grill, the fried rice and the desserts were standouts.

On the contrary, main stay choices like the Salmon Maki or Nigiri, as well as lot of the side dishes such as fried noodles, fries, fried chicken, spicy chicken are average to bad (Maki).

Really big place, we sat somewhere further into it and near the toilets, atmosphere wasn't as great there cus the air was quite cold and it was a long walk to the food. Other than that decent.

Service feels a bit rushed and hectic, there's always a waiter running around WITH you, making it feel a bit like they're cleaning up right behind you.

Recommended for a one time visit and only if you are extremely hungry. I've eaten at much better chinese...

Visited Chalet while we were on a weekend break to Faro. I've always loved a Chinese buffet, but where I live they've all closed down so I was excited to find one! We went in and ordered drinks, staff very kind and helpful, easy to get a table. The food was good, not as much selection as some buffets I've been to before, but great quality.

The staff were great, taking plates quickly when finished etc. We really enjoyed our food and we're leaving happy, until we came to pay. Despite clearly having a card machine, the man behind the counter was pressing us to pay by cash, and when we didn't have enough cash, he became very rude, tutting and shaking his head as he took the card payment, he stopped communicating with us and ushered us out. Very disappointed, as a tourist you are advised against carrying cash, we always use card where possible.

Take cash with you if possible as this place obviously aren't happy...

I was very surprised reading all these good reviews here after visiting the Chalet restaurant. It is true that the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the buffet is very cheap. But I didn't enjoy the food at all. The normal Wok Buffet was very small and very standard food, like you would expect it coming from a supermarket freezer, but okay. The Sushi buffet was huge and was the reason that made me enter the restaurant. But the Sushi was really not good. The quality was not good and they nearly only had super strange, exotic sushi variations with strange pineapple sauces or similar put all over the Sushi - it made the impression this should distract you from the bad quality of the fish (the salmon was quite delicious but the tuna for instance was really not good). The dessert was also really strange and not delicious at all. All in all it was a kind of okay, but unsatisfying dinner, especially...
