Maktostas — Restaurant in Faro

In full disclosure, I never had the chance to taste the food and experience the service. What happened was, I was patiently waiting to ask the host a question who was in the middle of a conversation with a couple friends, patrons, I don't know. Didn't matter as I was in no hurry, when he suddenly he turned, stared directly at me, then turned back to his conversation, dismissing me outright. That seemed odd, I thought. Then he seemed to say something nasty as it took one of the people he was talking to by surprise. She caught my eye and with a shrug of the shoulders, implied, that was weird. Cool casual (sort of grungy) little spot just popped in for a happy hour cocktail which was super cheap and just what we were looking for. Everyone was sitting outside. Not great views or anything, and most people were smoking. But it was close to the hotel and nice and quiet. A famosa Maktosta, uma imagem que vale mil palavras... só que não. Constituída por dentro em duas fatias de fiambre, uma de queijo, tomate à rodela, cebola, ketchup e mostarda.

Tinha os ingredientes todos para ser uma experiência ao palato de outro nível. Infelizmente além da reduzida quantidade nos ingredientes, o queijo e o fiambre não têm sabor algum e depois de confecionada a tosta, tanto o queijo como o fiambre ficam secos nos lados, conferindo um aspecto de "velho". Portanto, queijo e fiambre de enormíssima baixa qualidade.

A cebola infelizmente era escassa, tal como o tomate, uma rodela por cada parte da tosta. O pão muito seco, além dos molhos que são a única coisa com sabor, pois nem a manteiga que leva por cima tem algum sabor.

Não sabe mal, atenção, mas também não sabe bem. Serve apenas para ter alguma coisa no estômago, mas não é um desafio ao palato.
