Corner205 International Restaurant — Restaurant in Funchal

The first time i was in this restaurante i had a very pleasent and superb expirience because of the Polish chef realy passionated by the food he was making with is own receipts and menu. The second time i whent there the food was completly diferent and not tasty at all... I told that to the weiter and for my suprise the chef was fired because the only thing that the owner of the restaurante whanted was this chef to make a menu and after fired him he was working for a nepalese boss how is owner of the neighbour restaurante that looks like someome that is not passionated by food and is mooving by materialistic goals that no matter what can justify to use people steal a menu and threat bad his "team" So in that point i realise that everything changed and the restaurante lost his original essence when changed the original chef for a nepalese to cook a international menu for those reassons i dont recomend to nobody to tried this restaurante 1-No quality 2-No good practicies 3-Madeira food is much better that a nepalesse cooking international food. 4- service they don't speak portugues and not so polite 5-kitchen stolen receipts I'm someone with good heart and taste for that reason i had to eliminated my last feedback that was good and tell the true story of the unstable and quality impar of the service and prices of the 205...

Wow! What a lovely evening we had here. We hadn't booked and walked up at 8.30pm on a very warm August evening. Welcomed immediately with big smiles and opting for an outside table, one was quickly sorted for us. Drinks and food ordered in a timely but very relaxed manner. I was even brought a chair to place my bag on [instead of the floor].

We shared a starter of mushrooms sautéed in Madeira wine - delicious and it was a huge portion [too much for one person in my opinion]. Mains : chicken in lemon/garlic sauce and lamb shank. Both really nice and tasty, could not fault anything.

Staff are very friendly, helpful and easy to talk to.

They have their regular menu and offer different daily specials, all at very reasonable prices, and these are shown on the board outside.

I'd highly recommend you give it a try. 5 ⭐️'s...

Had an amazing couple of meals here. We visited on our first night on Madeira, just randomly selected from a number of nearby restaurants and the food and service were so good we went back again for our last night. They recognised us and welcomed us back and gave us an even better experience the second time! The staff were all so friendly and helpful and seemed to really care when asking how the food was. The beef mignon was fabulous and such a large portion. The kids loved the fish and chips with a large crispy piece of battered fish. All finished with a lovely glass of Madeira at the end. We had such a great time on the island we’ll be sure to return, and will definitely visit this...
