I usually do not write reviews, but this is so different! Highly recommended! It was our last dinner in Funchal, therefore it was very important for us to have a great meal with a good atmosphere. What can I say - the best service we had on Madeira during our stay. It is a local family restaurant, very thoughtful owners and friendly atmosphere, they care about your dining experience. The food was so tasty! We had starters as seafood and garlic bread, afterwards pasta with seafood and sliced beef with fries. Portions are huge. I had absolutely brilliant bowl of pasta with plenty of seafood packed with flavour. Beef with fries also was cooked so well. Beautiful garlic bread with a lot of garlic that brings that flavour. A bit salty pasta in my opinion, but for me it didn't spoil anything, perhaps it should be cooked that way. Excellent experience. Do not miss this place.

We came here based on reviews and we were beyond disappointed. We had the mussels to start and they were absolutely delicious. That’s the 2 star component. And then it went downhill from there. We ordered the steak with spice and the scabbard fish with banana. The steak was the toughest most sinewy piece of meat you could imagine. At least a third of it was inedible. The fish with banana was gross. The batter on the fish was stodgy, the banana burnt in places and the whole thing was drowned in balsamic glaze. And to top it off the chef decided to have a huge argument with one of his kitchen staff that all customers could hear. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Sometimes you go out spontaniousoly and find a gem like this. There are so many restaurants in funchal but we really feel like we hit the lottery with this one. Lovely family, very attentive, relaxed, friendly...and the food was such a joy. The plate was arranged with love and the food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We had ponchas as a start, then espada com banana and lulas grelhadas, a bottle of water and white House wine. The potatos tasted like they came right out of a campfire- such a lovely aroma!! We highly recommend and will visit again. Thank you!!

This restaurant is truly a gem! It’s a wonderful family-owned spot with an incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere.
